Alien Desire (Chronicles of Arcon Book 2)

The Arcons Tane and Brock Moonwalker are vacationing in the small town of Greenwood. Tane is dealing with agoraphobia, a condition worsened by the loss of their female. Brock and his friend needed to get away, but a tiny, gang-ridden town is the last place they expected to find love.

Saki Starling had trouble on her heels and couldn’t catch a break. She lost her apartment and a local gang threatened her at every turn. With her week at its lowest point, Tane and Brock promised to brighten her darkening world.

Tane, Brock, and Saki must find a way to come together, if they have any hope of overcoming their past and heal their broken hearts.

“Hey, chica. C’mova ‘ere,” said a thickly accented voice.

Saki cringed. Emanuel was hanging out with his homies at one of the picnic tables. She swallowed hard. Damn, I should have known better than take a short cut through here.

“I’ve got to get home.” She walked faster.

Emanuel laughed. “No, you don’t. You ain’t got no home. My old lady said she saw you get kicked out of that roach motel you lived at.”

“I got a new place.” As she kept moving, her heart pounded a painful rhythm against her chest.

“With the aliens?” He jogged over, angling to cut her off, his baggy pants nearly falling off his ass. Hector and José trailed close behind. “You screwing those things from outa-space, chica?”

“I’m not screwing anybody.”

Emanuel grabbed her arm, turning her around. “Good. I got a job for you. A little skinny niña like you don’t get stopped. You look too sweet and innocent to be holding.”

Saki pushed him away. “I only did that once, and it was a mistake. I’m not going to be a carrier for you anymore. I almost got caught last time, you dick head.”

Emanuel turned to share a laugh with his cronies, and then he slammed her against the tree. While she gasped for breath, he grabbed her face in a painful grip.

“Puta. You’ll work for me until I tell you otherwise. Understand?” He looked her up and down. “If that’s not to your liking, then maybe there’s something else you can do for me and my homies.”

Hector and José both snickered, moving closer. Emanuel licked his lips and stared at her tits.

“Oh, hell no!” She kicked his knee.

Jodeinda puta,” Emanuel cussed, still keeping Saki pinned with one hand. “I’m going to make you pay for that.”

“No. You. Will. Not.” Saki slammed her knee into Emanuel’s crotch.

Emanuel loosened his grip to hold his family jewels.

Saki took a step to get around him, ready to run, but José with a smirk moved to block her way. When she went the other way, Hector stepped in to keep her from escaping.

“Excuse me, do you need any help?” asked a familiar cultured voice.

Emanuel straightened but didn’t even look around. “Get lost. I’m busy.”

“I wasn’t asking you.” A hand gripped Emanuel’s shoulder and spun him around. “As amusing as it was to watch Saki pound your testicles, I think I want a turn.”

Emanuel craned his neck, staring up at the much taller Arcon. “What the f—?”

“Here’s a lesson you need to learn, human.” Tane snarled, flashing his white canines. “You never hurt a female—ever.”

In a move almost too fast to see, Tane lifted Emanuel and sent him flying. The gangbanger landed on his backside, sliding through a pool of water, past a broken sprinkler.

Tane turned to the other two standing nearby. He cracked his knuckles. “Shall I show you some Arcon discipline?

Matrix Crystal Hunters Book Trailer by Janice Seagraves

I just make a book trailer for Matrix Crystal Hunters. Please let me know what you think.

MatrixCrystalHunters_200
Blurb: Team Alpha Three’s spaceship is out of power after fighting a wormhole, and parked on the primitive world of Zenevieva. With half the team sick from radiation poisoning, the team commander entrust geologist, Maya Gladstone, to find enough matrix crystals to power up their spacecraft, so they can go home to Earth. Vach Namaste of the powerful Clan Namaste, a native of the planet, has desire the lovely Maya since she stepped off the spaceship on that astonishing day a year ago. He’s hounded her every step since. As Hymeneal Night approaches, he makes plans to take her as his bride… willing or not.
~*~

Excerpt: As promised, Maya bought another cheap tote so she wouldn’t damage her prize. Then she worked her way through the bazaar, buying supplies for the next day’s trip. As she went from tent to tent, hunting down the few veggies, fruit and other types of food that she could digest, she caught glimpses of the Zeeman following her. She tensed. What does he want with me?
She stalked completely round one of the tents to come face to face with him. Now’s my chance. “Why are you following me?” “What? I don’t know what you mean.” He took a step back. Maya grabbed a fistful of his dark brown robes. “Yes, you do. You’ve been dogging my steps from moment I set foot on your planet.” She suddenly noticed that the young man was bigger than she’d thought. His chest was deep and his shoulders broad. His arms were larger than Bobby’s and he worked out. And here I am, holding him by his clothes. He stared at her hand. “I like you and want to get to know you. If you were one of my people, I would woo you.” She realized his robe wasn’t made from the rough, homespun fabric used by the common Zeeman. Is he a clan lord? Maya loosened her grip on the silky material. “Who are you?” He moved back and swept his arm down in an elaborate bow. “My name is Vach Namaste of the Namaste clan. It would please me if you remembered it.” With a flutter of his robes, he hurried away, weaving through the crowd. It wasn’t until he had disappeared that Maya realized that he’d been speaking to her in English.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Vach finally reached the edge of the bazaar, where he had tied up his steed. He patted its thick neck. “Hey, Brawley.” His mount woke up with a snort, then lipped at his hand, demanding a treat. It was still standing in the same place that he left it and no one had bothered it. No one would dare touch a sherakey, not even this sleepy fellow. Reaching into a pouch, Vach dug out a sweet lump for his mount. Giving him the treat, Vach turned to see if the human female had followed. She hadn’t. He felt disappointed. But she wasn’t of his race and didn’t understand the proper way to act. If she wanted him to woo her, she should have followed him. If she didn’t, then she should have knocked him on his well-bred butt, just like the human guard had suggested. Vach had wanted this human female since he saw her step out of the spaceship on that astonishing day a year ago. Her blue eyes drew him closer. Her long, red hair made him want to run his fingers through it. Her curves sent flames of desire flickering through his body. He’d taken to coming into town regularly to stroll by the compound, just to see if she would be there. Today had been one of those rare good days when she was there to follow. He learned a little more about her each time. Now he knew she wanted to find something. If he knew what it was, maybe he could find it for her. Climbing up on the saddle, Vach clicked his tongue and his mount started down the dusty road toward the Namaste bachelor compound. He contemplated his plan for Hymeneal Night. Vach already knew from eavesdropping at the map seller’s tent that Maya would be out on the desert, all alone. And then he’d get his chance to have her.

Why Do I Write Science Fiction? By Janice Seagraves

I was recently asked on a facebook party why I wrote science fiction romance?

I told her, that it was because of all the possibilities, which are infinite.

Which is true.

But there is a more closer connection.

Back when I was little, I watched Star Trek with my father.

I'd lay on the floor or sit on the couch and he'd be in his big recliner. We'd always laugh at the antics of the crew (usually between Spock and McCoy) or be appalled when one the badies would do to something mean or kill one of the poor red shirts.

You know, the ones who always got killed.

Sometimes when Dad read a science fiction book, I'd ask him to read it to me, and he would read a few pages. He wouldn't read all of it because he said I wouldn't understand or maybe the next scene he thought was inappropriate for me to hear.

About the time I entered High School, I found science fiction books. I'd bring them home and share them with my Dad.

We also saw the first movie in the Star Wars saga together. I still remember see those big words scrolling across the screen that introduced us to the Star Wars universe:

In a galaxy far, far, away...

I loved it, my dad not so much.

"Too much noise and not enough story" is how I think my Dad put it.

A love of well written science fiction connected me to my father.

I lost him in 1982. I'll always miss him and in my heart I'd like to think my Dad would enjoy the science fiction books that I write. Inappropriate scenes and all.

Blurb: Divorcee and single mom, hardworking Audrey Westberry is the host of a cable TV show called Miz Fixit.
Romance was the last thing on Audrey’s mind when two handsome extraterrestrials join the audience of her show.
Soon Audrey finds out a single word “mated” has different meaning when you are born a galaxy away. After a wonderful night of passion, Audrey finds herself far from home, impregnated and her life turned upside down.
Will she ever be able to leave the alien compound, see her son again, or get home in time to film the fall season of her Miz Fixit show?
But what’s a girl to do with two aliens that smell like candy, and their kisses taste like it, too?

Excerpt:

After filming, Audrey sat at the vanity table, while the makeup girl, Kendra, helped her remove the heavy camera makeup.
“Good show, everyone.” Derek, the director, walked through the dressing room. Tall, dark-haired, with hazel eyes, and oh so married. He leaned on Audrey’s chair and peered into the mirror at her. “So, Audrey, how are you going to spend your summer hiatus?”
“Oh hi, Derek.” Kendra made eyes at him again.
Audrey frowned at her. If his wife ever saw her do that, she’d go ballistic. To Audrey he was just a dear friend and director, who’d guided her through the complexity of cable television.
“I was going to spend it with my son, but I got a call from my ex. Tony is going away to camp for eight weeks.”
“Camp?” He blinked in surprise. “Whose idea was that?”
“Tony and his best friend decided they wanted to go. My ex put him on the phone, so he could tell me.”
“Ouch.” Derek pulled down the corners of his mouth. “Best friend one, mom zero.”
“Yeah,” Audrey sighed, still feeling the sting of rejection. “He’s at an age now when friends are more important than mommy.”
“And, this is the dressing room where our star puts on her makeup for the camera.” Fox Watanabe, Audrey's agent, was nattily dressed. His straight midnight hair and dark eyes marked him as pure Native American. He seemed to be acting as a tour guide to the aliens.
A cameraman entered the dressing room ahead of the aliens, walking backward as he snapped pictures.
Audrey grimaced. God, what’s Fox doing now?
“The aliens look like elves,” Derek muttered under his breath.
“Yeah, they do.” Audrey noticed their pointed ears and long faces. “They could’ve played extras on the Lord of the Ring movies.”
“Got to go, things to do.” Derek headed toward the exit, but he slowed, and his back stiffened as he got near her agent.
Audrey tensed. Please don't let them get into another argument over me.
“Fox.”
“This is our little show’s director, Derek Alcorn.” Fox gestured toward him.
“Nice to meet you.” Derek gave a nod to the aliens. “I’ve got to button up the set.”
He hurried out of the room.
Fox turned back to the aliens. “He’s a busy man, lots of responsibilities.”
Audrey let out a breath. Fox had once again ignored the subtle dig Derek’s quick exit meant. The show's director didn't like chitchat, but he hated her agent even more.
“They have three penises each,” Kendra whispered in Audrey’s ear. She used a soaked cotton ball and ran it over the side of Audrey’s face to clean off the makeup.
Audrey turned to stare at her. “What?”
Kendra pinched Audrey’s chin, moving her head over to clean the other side.
“I saw a picture on the internet.” She whispered, “Two long ones and a little one. It makes you wonder what their women look like down there.”
Audrey licked her lips, trying to imagine the male aliens naked. Would their equipment look like my favorite toy?
Kendra moved back and smiled. “All done.”
Fox walked over to her, with the aliens in tow. “Here’s our Miz Fixit, Audrey Westberry.”
God, what a thing to tell me, just before I’m introduced to them. Standing, Audrey held out her hand and tried not to glance at their crotches. “How do you do?”

Writing a report in Matrix Crystal Hunters by Janice Seagraves

I don't keep journals or diaries. I had one when I was eight, I wrote in it only for a little bit then stopped.

Here's a scene where my heroine is writing a report she's to present to her commander.

Matrix Crystal Hunters:

After breakfast, she got out her computer and set it up at the dining table, while Vach did the dishes, and Momma Roosa went out to putter about in her garden.

Typing a few sentences, she stopped to stare at Vach’s muscular physique. How does a rich boy get a tight butt? They don’t have gyms here that I know of. Several erotic scenarios flickered through her mind. Then she realized she had completely lost her train of thought. Maybe I should have set up my computer in my room?

Vach brought her a cup of tea. “How far have you gotten?”

“Dear sir, How are you?”

Vach frowned. “That’s not far.”

“Nope.” She stirred the sweetener into her tea and then took a sip. “I’m trying to think of how to word the part about the Mother’s womb.” Clearing her throat, she continued, “I need to word it just right, so my commander won’t try to send out a search party to find it.” She coughed, cleared her throat some more and stared at her cup. Feeling her glands, she noticed they were swollen.

“What tea is this?”

“Zena’s Special Choice. Why?”

“Oh, God. I can’t drink that.” She hurried to a cabinet.

Vach followed her. “I thought it was only seasonings you couldn’t have?”

“It’s more than that.” Maya found the epinephrine she was looking for. A dizzy spell hit her. “There are teas and food I can’t have either. They cause an allergic reaction.” Taking the syringe out of the package, she hit it on her thigh. The sharp bite of the needle broke her skin as it instantly injected the medicine into her bloodstream.

“What are you doing to yourself?” He stared at her thigh.

“I gave myself an emergency injection.” She dropped the syringe onto the countertop. As another wave of dizziness swept over her, she braced herself against the wall.

He moved to her side. “Why? Was it that serious?”

“Yes, you almost killed me.” She slumped to the floor.
