A Second Chance at Love - Erotic Contemporary Romance - Sensual Stranger - Tina Donahue Books #SensualStranger #SecondChanceatLove #EroticContemporaryRomance #TinaDonahueBooks

If you love second chance at love romances, motorcycles, and a hero who's HOT, dominant, and tender then check out Sensual Stranger, my erotic contemporary.

Zach and Toni's love story earned a Book of the Year award.

PREORDER - Ready to Read July 5

Blurb:

Into his life she came—wanting…willing…wanton

It’s no ordinary morning when Toni Starr arrives at Zach’s garage. Flat broke, with a past she won’t share, Toni’s instantly taken by such a potently virile man. Direct and unashamed, she tells him she’s a motorcycle performance artist who needs work and knows motors.

Zach knows women, and Toni’s unlike any he’s met. Lushly sensuous, exceedingly assured, she’d easily be his match in business and bed. A provocative challenge that stirs him as nothing has since losing his wife. A chance he’s reluctant to take, offering no more than a month’s employment, then she’ll have to be on her way.

The hours tick by. Each word and glance intensifies their denied yet escalating desire, forcing them to surrender to passion. Driven by carnal hunger, conquered by yearning, they face the unforeseen truth of Toni’s past and a future neither of them expected.

 Excerpt:

The door clicked then swung inward, steam drifting out.

Unaware of his presence, Toni looked behind herself at something in the bath. Her skin glowed from her shower and smelled of soap rather than her cologne. Her stretchy blue camisole and plaid boxer shorts clung to her damp flesh.

Zach’s heart beat violently. The tee slipped from his hand.

He told himself to pick it up and race downstairs before she saw him.

His legs refused to move.

Moisture dripped from her freshly washed hair and rolled down her temple to her cheek. Her thin satin strap fell over her shoulder.

Ignoring it, she lifted a brush to her hair, turned, and froze. Her gaze slipped down his naked chest, paused at his fly, and settled on his erection. Desire quickly replaced her surprise. Her lips parted. A gentle breath spilled out. She looked at him, her gaze receptive and yearning.

He slipped his hand behind her neck and pushed her into the door.

The wood smacked the doorstop and vibrated, matching the sounds from his sprinting heart.

Toni dropped her brush. It tapped across the linoleum.

Her skin was so ungodly hot, Zach thought he might die. He captured her mouth and drove his tongue inside, filling her as much as he could, his kiss savage, uncivilized, and punishing for making him wait…for making him want.

She suckled him deeper, her mouth tasting of peppermint toothpaste and female lust. She ran her palms up his pecs, wreathed her arms over his shoulders, and dug her nails into his back, imprisoning him with one leg wrapped around his.

Roused beyond control, he ground his stiffened cock into her mound and angled his mouth for greater penetration.

They made sloppy, lewd, joyous sounds, telling each other and the world they were alive, they deserved this, kissing brazenly for what might have been minutes. When the initial fury ebbed, their passion turned tender and exploring, stoking his desire even more.

Toni melted into him, her chest pumping with her strangled breaths.

Obsessive need sliced through him. He tore his mouth free, heaved air, and stepped back, forcing her leg from around his.

Wearing a disapproving look, she glanced at the space separating them then him pulling her arms from his shoulders.

She slumped. “What are you doing?”

“Shh.” He imprisoned her wrists in one hand, lifted her arms above her head, and held them to the door. The wood shimmied again. On a rough breath, he pushed her camisole up, exposing her right breast.

A faint sound rose from her throat, sounding like pure pleasure.

His legs went rubbery. Dizziness hit so hard he had to lower his head to stop it. Her nipple was a paler pink than he would have guessed, tight and puckered, waiting for his mouth.

He made his first lick unhurried, his tongue skimming the hard bud. His next was hungered, his laps exploring the bumpy areola and the creamy skin beyond it.

Air whooshed from her. She sagged against the door.

He tightened his hold on her wrists and cupped her breast, loving its weight and warmth, then drew her nipple into his mouth, sucked hard, soft, then hard again, incapable of settling on either. He wanted to fuck her raw on the bathroom floor, take her to the guest bedroom, tie her to the bed, and do things with her he’d done with no other woman.

Finished with her nipple, he slanted his mouth over hers, accepting her tongue and pulling it deep. He slid his hand over her boxer shorts and cradled her mound. God, God, God. His ears rang from too much desire. Perspiration broke out on his chest.

Toni moaned indecently, encouraging him to do more.

He dipped beneath the thin cotton fabric and touched her damp curls.

She spread her legs.

Good girl. As far as he was concerned, they could spend the entire day here.

One thing that I like was that the chemistry between Toni and Zach was on fire from the get go, it was something that neither could hide too well and that tension added to all the drama in a deliciously decadent way.

Dear Diary...sometimes it's best to forget #TinaDonahue

This month at RB4U the  theme is Dear Diary...

I recall the first diary I got. It was pink - of course - and had fairies like Tinkerbell all over it. Lots of glitter too. What thrilled me the most though was the lock and key. Finally, I had something that no one could look at, totally secret, and all my own.

Like a fiend, I wrote every day for a couple of months, then I began to struggle to find things to say. It seemed nothing ever changed in my life, and I didn't know how to solve the stuff that mattered to me.

Finally, I gave up on my diary.  I reasoned it was too much work. There were other things to do - homework, dancing, modeling, beauty contests. Yeah, I was one of those kids like the ones in Toddlers and Tiaras and Dance Moms.

Years later when I found the diary and read the passages, I was struck by how much I lost out on in my childhood. Simple good times with friends. Having a BFF I could trust. Going to camp, playing sports, goofing around, the usual things kids do. All foreign to me. I knew how to perform and to behave around adults. With kids, I was at a loss. Because of all the stuff I was in, I was bullied mercilessly at school. A lot of that ended up in my diary. When I read the passages, I felt the hurt all over again. As I child, I had wanted to hide from everyone, terrified of the constant criticism, yet I was spending all my free time performing, which of course, invites even more criticism. A can't win situation. The turmoil in my family was bad too. Constant arguments. You know those type of people. They're the ones on shows like Dr. Phil. Wow, did I want to run away and live where no one knew me.

Maybe I stopped writing in the diary because it hurt too much. Once you're past certain points in your life, they're best forgotten.

I survived, of course, but I ache for any child who's going through the same thing I had. I want them to be able to be kids.

Forgetting the past and moving on is the theme of my newest romance Wicked Seduction, book two of my Wicked Desires series.

Series blurb: South Florida just got a helluva lot steamier… During the day, the staff at Wicked Brand makes ink dreams a reality for their appreciative clients. After hours, this naughty crew engages in sensual delights as wild as the designs they’re selling. Their motto? Nothing forbidden. Nothing held back.

Blurb:

She’s survived abuse…he’ll teach her to trust passion and love.

Marnie’s getting her life together after escaping a violent relationship, a repeat of her parents’ past. Bearing scars on her arm and leg, she comes to Wicked Brand hoping tattoos will cover the damage and allow her to feel pretty.
Tor can work magic with his stunning 3-D designs and wants nothing more than to see Marnie smile. She’s a rare combination of sweet yet wickedly sensual. The kind of woman a man can’t easily resist.
He doesn’t try. Their sessions at the parlor turn into evenings of steamy delight as they feed their carnal hunger and growing intimacy, playing shameless games that leave them breathless and wanting more.
Paradise for Marnie—Tor cherishes and excites rather than harms, unlike her ex-boyfriend.
When he finds her, he’s ready to do his worst.
Think again. This time, Marnie’s no longer alone.

Blurb:

Her freedom depends on one man. A criminal to his realm…

One minute, Paige Ross is outside a Seattle bar, grieving a failed engagement. The next, she jerks awake in a weird, candlelit room with velvet walls, black silk sheets, and a man who motions for silence.

Paige has little choice but to trust the powerful stranger who promises a way out of what looks like Satan’s brothel. And pray his promise to keep her safe is as real as the heat burning in his eyes.

Banished from E2’s ruling elite for supposed crimes against the realm, Zekin risks everything to rescue those brought to E5 for the guards’ carnal pleasure. Paige will be leaving this inhospitable realm of fire and ice—if he can somehow forget the way her trembling body melts in his arms.

Safe—temporarily—in an underwater world populated by strange creatures, Paige’s sexual awakening explodes into an unquenchable need that consumes them both. But the guards will be looking for her. And Zekin’s plan to send her home is a dangerous journey she cannot—will not—take without him.

Warning: Scorching-hot sex and loads of aching tenderness between a drool-worthy hunk who’s determined to do the right thing and a woman who’s not about to give him up.

** How did you celebrate your first book?

I bought a lot of chocolate. I'm an admitted chocoholic and I was able to indulge my addiction. :)

** What's your writing schedule like? Do you strive for a certain amount of words each day?

I write every single day, except for Christmas. No exceptions. Once I have my outline finished - and it's a very detailed outline - I generally do a chapter a day. I'm able to write quickly like that during my first draft because my outline is so complete.

** What is the most important thing you do for your career now, as compared to when you first started writing?

Promo, hands down. I'm a promo whore. Because I have to be, not because I'm crazy about it. Deep down, I'm extremely shy. I think that's why being an author appealed to me. I could hide behind my characters.

** How much of yourself is hidden in the characters in the book?

A lot. Whenever I mention a song a character likes, it's one that appeals to me. Same for food and basic outlook on life. The only time my personality isn't reflected in a character is with a villain.

** Of all your characters, who's your favorite, and why?

That's a really difficult choice for me. I love all my people. However, if I had to choose, it would be a toss up between Zach and Toni in Sensual Stranger and RJ and Summer in In His Arms. I really loved all of them. I still tear up when I read those books.

** Do you eat comfort food/listen to music when writing?

For me, comfort food is popcorn - and yes - I do eat it while I'm writing. Can't listen to music while I write. Too distracting. I need total silence.

** How do you choose names for your characters?

They simply pop into my head when I'm picturing a character while I'm outlining. Same with the plot and scenes. It's like I see a movie in my mind and I'm just writing it down as it plays. :)

** Give one advice tip to an aspiring author.

Write. No matter how painful. No matter how scary.  If you don't have anything to submit,  you'll never get published. No excuses. Write.

** If you could give a younger version of yourself advice, what would it be?

Promo. A lot hinges on that. If readers don't know you exist, you won't sell, no matter how great your book is.

** What genre would you like to try writing that you haven't yet tried?

Thrillers. Love the genre.

Fun Stuff:

** What is your favorite holiday and why?

Christmas. I love the decorations, the lighting, the festivity.

** What are two things people might be surprised to know about you?

I was a child model (did a billboard that ran in New York and California). I've piloted a single-engine plane.

** As a child, what did you want to be when  you grew up?

A writer. I've always wanted to write.

** Favorite food.

Chocolate (what else?)  :)

** Hot summer days or chilly winter nights?

Chilly winter nights.

** What is the top thing on your bucket list?

To visit Spain.

** If you could have a super power, what would it be?

To fly.

I always loved fairy tales

Leave a comment. One lucky person will win a copy of this great love story.

You know, the impossible happens and you get a Happy Ever After that you didn't expect? I translated that into one of the first stories I sold to Ellora's Cave. Although I usually don't reread my work once it's published, this story just sticks in my mind. I pulled it up yesterday, in fact, and read it again. So here's a taste for you. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Loraine “Rainie” McIntyre longs for just one weekend to let down her hair and find a man who will help her live out all her fantasies before her conventional wedding to her very conventional fiancé and continuing her very conventional life. Despite Stuart's protests, she knows she has to do this or she'll always feel she missed something in life. Goodbye Loraine, hello Rainie.

And hello Joe, the sex god with lion's eyes she meets at the beach. Hopping on his motorcycle with him, she roars off to a weekend of the wildest sex anyone could ever want. But things are not always what they seem and life is about to hand Rainie a few surprises.

“Sounds like you should have a talk with Stuart.” They were silent for a long moment. Joe picked up one of her hands and played with the fingers. “So Rainie-who-wants-to-be-wild. Do you think I’d do?”
She frowned. “Do?”
“You know. For the weekend fling. I’m healthy, momentarily unattached and I can promise you the sex will be better than you can imagine.”
Her heart was beating in a stuttering rhythm. A flutter deep in her womb began to increase in tempo.
While she chewed on her lip, Joe made the decision for her. He swallowed the last of his drink, rose with lithe jungle grace and held out his hand to her. “Come on. I promise you an adventure you won’t forget.”
Rainie looked up at him. A wildness glittered in his lion’s eyes, a hint of something feral and untamed beneath all those tanned muscles and that amazing grin. Anticipation rolled over her.
“All right.” She stood up, hitched the thin strap of her flat purse over her shoulder and gave him her hand.
He tossed their drink cups in a trash barrel and led her toward the street.
“Where are we going?”
“I rented a house down the beach for the weekend. How does that sound?”
She paused. “I don’t have any clothes except what I’ve got on. And my car’s in the garage here.”
The amber eyes darkened to a deep gold. “If things work out you won’t need any clothes. And your car’s safe at the hotel. Anyway, I’ve got the transportation covered.”
They stopped at the curb where a gleaming silver Ducati motorcycle rested on its kickstand.
Rainie’s mouth flopped open. “Is this yours?”
“Sure is.” He winked at her and handed her a helmet. “Here. You’ll need this. Don’t want to splatter your brains before we get to that wild sex.”
Suddenly Rainie threw back her head and laughed. What the hell. This was what she wanted, wasn’t it? “Okay, Joe. Crank ‘er up.”
She hopped onto the motorcycle behind him, wrapped her arms around his hard, muscular body, her hands clasped against sun-warmed male skin and inhaled. A cologne so light its fragrance was almost elusive mingled with the scent of the sun, the Gulf waters, the lingering coconut aroma of the piña coladas and the male essence that was uniquely Joe. She had to squash an irresistible urge to pull up his shirt and lick his skin to see if he tasted as good as he smelled.
They roared down the street with wheeling seagulls squawking overhead and the rushing slipstream of the wind sweeping away the last vestiges of restraint.

What Did Writers Do BEFORE Blogging???

I'll tell you a secret.

I do not like to blog. It takes time away from what I adore - writing. Most of the time, it seems an exercise in futility, rather like standing in the middle of the Sahara and giving an impassioned speech. "Is anyone out there?" I can hear myself screaming. Better still - "Is anyone reading this damn thing?"

I began writing and publishing before blogging became a requirement for authors. In those days (the late 90s), authors did book signings and tours. I did a lot of that. It wasn't all that bad, maybe because I expected it to be part of the author life. I was never required to give a speech at those signings. Nor did I believe anyone expected me to entertain them. I was there to smile, say 'hi', talk a bit about my book, give out chocolates and hopefully sell my stories.

Now, though...ugh.

Every single day is another blog whether it's on my own site, another site I own, as a guest on other sites, or as a member of the sites I'm a member on. Good god, even when I was a teenager and liked to interact with people, I didn't have to interact this much.

I have to wonder if blogging really does any good in reaching fans.

When I first discovered I liked horror (after seeing all the Nightmare on Elm Street movies), I started to read Stephen King's novels, beginning with his earliest. I was enthralled. I thought he was a god. I pictured him as being well over six feet, dark, handsome as hell. When I went to the library to get one of his books in hardcover and saw his picture - whoa. Frankly, I was crushed. I couldn't believe he looked like he did (sorry Stephen). Then, I read a nonfiction book he wrote on writing. Some of the stuff he said didn't set too well with me. At that point, I figured it was all TMI (too much information). I liked it better when he was a god in my mind with an air of mystery about him.

Did you ever consider that it's the same with all this blogging going on? Do fans buy our books because they like our blogs? I doubt it. Do they become fans because of our blogs? I doubt that too. Has any writer become a bestseller because of her/his blog? If they have, then I truly believe it's a major fluke. There is so much out there to read, if my fans read all my blogs, they wouldn't have time to read my books. And maybe, just maybe, I'll say something in a blog that doesn't fit in with their previous image of me and they'll say bye-bye.

For now, it seems there's little choice for authors. Blogging, having a website, having an internet presence is considered a marketing tool, so we authors slog through it as much as we can.

For me, nothing will ever compete with writing a book. Wow, what a feeling. Judge me on that, not my blogs.

I'm pleased to introduce my latest offering from Ellora's Cave. Claiming Magique is Book One in my Appointment with Pleasure series. Don't have a release date as yet, but here's the cover art and blurb. Enjoy. :)

Blurb:

A man at the center of power…a woman who won’t be ruled…

They call her Magique.

Sought out by the District’s elite, she’s no ordinary call girl, deciding who will pleasure her for the evening. Her preference is for several men at once. Games of bondage and submission heighten her arousal and desire to have a strong male take her…to be adored.

Lobbyist Hunter Prescott was only looking for a good time, not a woman who unleashes a hunger so deep it changes his world. He won’t stop until Magique is his alone, a prisoner of his lust, powerless against his growing need for her body and heart.

With this man, resistance isn’t allowed. For this woman, he’ll create a world of sensual delight and yearning like none she’s known. Proving that only with trust and true surrender will she find unparalleled rapture.
