New Beach Reads for #RB4U fans!

Summer is upon us--finally! One of my favorite things to do during the warmer months is to sit out on my deck with a cool drink and read a great book. I love losing myself in worlds that other people created. When we go on vacation, I bring along four or five books and settle in a comfy lounge chair. Some people don't understand how I can be so sedentary, but in my day-to-day life I'm constantly chasing my two young kids. When I'm on vacation I want to relax!

I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. That's why I always to have one or two books come out early in the sumer months. There's nothing worse than settling in by the pool and discovering you have nothing to read.

So, here are the books that came out this past month. Happy reading!

Nine romance stories of love, lust, and passion from multi-published, award-winning, and best-selling authors.
Genres include: contemporary, fantasy/other world, ménage, BDSM, romantic suspense, paranormal – ALL with a high heat level.
My contribution:
Back to Basics (contemporary scorching) by Suzanne Rock:
Stuck in a dead-end relationship with someone who cares more about image than feelings, Theo Nash has all but given up on love. Then an exotic dancer catches him off guard, and he learns that happiness can strike when you least suspect it. Humiliated and down on her luck, Celeste performs an impulsive act with a man she barely knows, and the results end up being more than she ever dreamed possible.

Fast-talking career woman Olivia Bremner is at the peak of her profession. Employed by one of the country’s most influential magazines, she spends her days dining with celebs and taking her pick of free products from designers and cosmetic companies. Every woman’s dream job, basically. So what if it’s a little lonely at the top. Success often comes at a price, right?

Nayef “Nayo” Darzi is used to getting his way. The wealthy prince can have any beauty he wants—until danger throws him together with a stubborn American, perhaps the first woman unaffected by his alpha tendencies. Tattooed and contentious women aren’t his thing—normally. But there’s something about Olivia and her sexy curves that makes Nayo want to take a big bit. If he can keep her out of trouble long enough…

A lifetime New Englander, Suzanne married her college sweetheart and has been with him for over twenty years. Every summer she drags her husband and two daughters to Maine on a quest for the perfect lobster dinner. Every fall she can be found down in Foxboro, Massachusetts cheering on her favorite football team. In between those trips, she’s a chauffeur, a maid, a chef, an event planner, a hairdresser, a wardrobe stylist, a tutor and a sometimes masseuse. To keep her sanity, she often drinks copious amounts of coffee and stares at the blank screen of her laptop, dreaming of great adventures. Sometimes she even writes them down for others to enjoy.

Diary of a Workaholic - Post by Suzanne Rock #RB4U

The theme for this month is diaries. I used to keep a diary when I was a kid. In it I wrote about all of the important stuff in a fourth grader's world: who was talking to whom, which boys were the cutest, and which teacher liked to give homework over the weekend. (What a meanie! *shakes fist*)

As an adult, I don't keep a diary, but a schedule. Those who know me laugh at my computer full of spreadsheets and office full of Post-It notes. What they don't realize is that without them, I'm lost.

I'll let you in on a little secret: I get easily overwhelmed. It doesn't take too many tasks to pile up before I'm crawling under the covers and sobbing into my pillow. To-Do lists, schedules and deadlines do more than help me get organized. They help me break down my responsibilities into bite-sized pieces so I don't get overloaded.

Task lists are especially handy this time of year. In the fall, my two girls are heading back to school, and all of their after-school activities are beginning. Forms need to be signed, summer projects need to be completed, and signups for extra-curricular activities occur. (Limited space, better hurry!) My youngest daughter also has her birthday on September first, so yeah, you can see how I tend to get overwhelmed.

I have been creating To-Do lists for years and over time I've come up with a few key things that make them work for me.

1) Keep the list managable. Don't write down twenty tasks because you won't have time to finish them all. When there are items left on your "to-do" list at the end of the day, it can really put a damper on your motivation.

2) Keep it simple and specific. A goal like "clean the house" can be overwhelming. Try breaking it down into bite-sized chunks like "clean the kitchen" or "do one load of laundry." A good rule of thumb is to make sure you can finish each task in an hour timeframe.

3) Schedule time for youself. It is unrealistic to think that you can work twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Suffering from mental and emotional burnout isn'tpretty, and the best way to stop it is to work on your overall health. On your schedule, make sure you do one thing for yourself each day. It could be as simple as "take a 30 minute walk," or "read a short story." By taking time for yourself, you ensure you are mentally and physically ready to deal with the tasks on your list tomorrow.

4) Schedule time with loved ones. This is just as important. Time goes by so fast. You don't know how long you are going to live on this earth, so make sure you spend some time each day with those people who are important to you.

5) Be rigid, yet flexible. When you create a schedule or a task list, try not to get distracted. Focus on one item at a time and work your way down the list until you have accomplished everything you want to do. At the same time, know that life happens. Emergencies come up, plans change, and people show up unexpectedly. Be easy on yourself. If something happens and you can't finish your task list, don't beat yourself up over it. There is always tomorrow.

How about you? Do you live and die by task lists and schedules like me, or are you more spontaneous? Tell me about it in the comments section. I'd love to hear from you!

Book 1 in the Ecstasy Spa series
Dumped by her boyfriend and down on her luck, Annabelle accepts her best friend's gift and goes to the Ecstasy Spa for an afternoon of escape. She expects the service to be mechanical and the staff to have more brawn than brains, but she couldn't be more mistaken.

Instead of cold and clinical, Seth is everything she has ever wanted in a man. Smart and sexy, it's easy to see why he is the most requested staff member at the spa. Together they embark on a mind-blowing journey of self-discovery that takes them both to heights that neither thought possible. As physical attraction turns into something deeper, Annabelle wonders if she should risk going against spa policy to see if the "quick fix" she ordered can be changed into something more permanent.

Everything is coming up...DAISIES!

Spring is a fantastic time of year. After the terrible winter we had in Boston, I'm welcoming this warm weather with open arms. I'm sure many around the northeastern US are as well. There's something about seeing all of the flowers come up and feeling the sun on your face that brightens the mood. Well, at least it brightens my mood. :)

There's another thing that happens in spring: spring cleaning. For the past few weeks, I've been going around the house and cleaning like a madwoman. This is especially true in the third bedroom, which we are making over into my home office. All of the kids' toys are out and so far I have a desk and a chair. Yay! The rest of the room looks a little bare, though. There are still some nursery curtains on the window, too. (Hmm, must do something about that.) Change is sometimes quick, like flowers suddenly appearing in spring, or slow, like buying furniture for a new room. As much as I want all of my furniture now, I know that it's best for our budget if I wait and do it piece by piece.

Flowers and office space aren't the only things changing. I'm also giving all of the covers in my Ecstasy Spa series a face lift. The series was in desperate need of something more. . .updated and it took me almost a full year to save up the money to get them all done. I think they look great, don't you?

Pretty, eh? It was a race to the finish, but I'm happy to report that they're all done and ready for the release of Ecstasy Spa, Volume III, coming out the end of May (cover arriving soon). What better way to celebrate spring than with a brand new release?

So tell me, what changes are you going through this spring? Do believe in spring cleaning? Have you started yet?

Read more about the Ecstasy Spa series here.

Book Trailers, Preorders and Vacations!

by Suzanne Rock/AvaConway

I keep saying that I'm almost done with my hectic schedule, but this time I mean it. :) I just handed in SHATTERED, the sequel to HOLLOW, and will start planning my promotion next week. It's hard to believe that the release of Hollow is only a few days away. I'm so excited to share all of the awesome characters at Newton Heights with all of you!

Recently, I had a friend make a book trailer for Hollow. I thought I'd show you

Girl, Interrupted meets Beautiful Disaster in this thrilling and sexy debut novel, in which a college student learns her perfect life is a lie and finds new love where she least expects it—a mental institution.

Freaks, misfits and psychopaths. Those are the kinds of people found at Newton Heights Psychiatric Hospital, and high-society girl Lucy White's new home.

Freaks, misfits and Jayden McCray. Jayden has his own set of rules for life at Newton Heights, and in this contradictory guy Lucy finds a way to live with the events that left her cheating boyfriend and best friend dead and Lucy in the middle of the investigation into their demise.

The problem? Jayden makes her want things she's not supposed to have, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality and making Lucy feel more at home in Newton Heights than she ever did at home. But this isn't how her life is supposed to be.

Or is it?

Special preorder sale on from Amazon. Get it for only $1.99!

In other news, I'm part of a HUGE multi-author boxed set that is releasing tomorrow. Yeah, you have to wait until tomorrow to read it, but you can preorder it today. :) This is a fantasic lineup of authors, some of the best in the biz. Sponsored by Ink Heart, we're hoping that these boxed sets will help showcase some of our work.

I won't put the book descriptions here, because it will be too long to read, but if you're interested you can read the Sexy and Sweet (Mainstream Romance) set here, and the Steamy and Sizzlng (Erotic) here. Both boxed sts are only $2.99 for a limited time, so that means that you can get both for only $5.98! My addition is an Ecstasy Spa novel, The Great Escape.

Like audiobooks? I finally got the fifth book in my Ecstasy Spa series up for sale on both Amazon and Audible. I'm a huge fan of audio, so I'm really excited to bring this to readers. :)

You can read more about Pressure Point either on Amazon, or Audible.

To celebrate all of these releases, I'll be taking part of a huge Summer-of-love-a-palooza with the Smutkatters. There will be prizes, contests, behind the scenes information, and much more.

I'll also be taking part in the monthly Ink Heart party over on Facebook, so be sure you watch our Facebook Page for dates and times!

On the personal front, I'll be taking my annual "no work, no internet" vacation with my family starting July 6th. We all unplug every year to reconnect with each other and to break the cycle of internet addiction we all seem to suffer from during the other 51 weeks of the year, lol. We've been doing this for a couple of years, and the first time it was really hard, but now I actually look forward to it. With no distractions, we really focus on each other and create some awesome memories. :)

For our vacation this year, we'll be taking a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. It should be a lot of fun. :) The only electronics I'm bringing is my kindle, because I can't go a week without something to read.

How about you? Do you have any books you are hoping to read this summer? How about vacations? Are you planning on going anywhere? Tell me about it. I'd love to hear from you!
