Once again this will appear late, but it's not me, honest. My blog was in place and scheduled for 12:30 this morning and now I find it has disappeared.  To say I'm upset is an understatment.  However, here we go with a repeat.

QUOTES from famous women...

1. It it not fair to ask of others what you are not will to do yourself.   Eleanor Roosevelt.

2. The most exciting thing about women's liberation is that this century will be able to take advantage of talent and potential genius that have been wasted because of taboos.  Helen Reddy

3. Don't compromise yourself.  You are all you've got.    Betty Ford

4. I've had an exciting life; I married for love and got a little money along with it.    Rose Kennedy

5. I never hated a man enough to give him his diamonds back.
       Zsa Zsa Gabor

6. I've been rich and I've been poor.  Rich is better.   Sophie Tucker.

7. An archeologist is the best husband a woman can have; the older she gets, the more interested he is in her.    Agatha  Christie

8. Old age is like a plane flying through a storm.  Once you're aboard, there's nothing you can do.     Golda Meir

9. The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.  Lily Tomlin

As usual, I'd love to know your favorite..  Please comment so we all can enjoy your choice.

My new book is at the top, and sells are doing well. Love it when a new book comes out...

Jean,

I love these quotes but my favorite by far is (2)The most exciting thing about women's liberation is that this century will be able to take advantage of talent and potential genius that have been wasted because of taboos. Helen Reddy

What's mind boggling is that Reddy's statement was made in the last century and we're still fighting to make make progress in this one. The quote is still inspirational and I'm looking forward to wrecking more taboos.

Thanks, Paris. I totally agree with you that this is an amazing quote. The book I got them from, Amazing Quotes from Great Women is amazing in itself.

As usual, Jean, these are great. My fave is: The most exciting thing about women's liberation is that this century will be able to take advantage of talent and potential genius that have been wasted because of taboos. Helen Reddy

Think of the wasted human potential from women, minorities, those who don't 'fit' into some people's idea of an ideal American (or wherever someone lives). The world could be so awesome, yet it's mostly awful (wars, poverty, murder, etc) because of a few jerks. And now we might be facing a nuclear holocaust. SMH

I love your quotes, Jean. I, too, like number 2 from Helen Reddy. Who thought we'd still be fighting for our rights into the 21st century? I also like quotes 3, 4, and 7. Thanks for posting these.

How interesting that we were all so intrigued by Helen Reddy's quote. Progress is sometimes profanely slow. thanks for your comments, ladies.
