More than One Between the Covers

All right all you sex-minded people ... pull your mind out of the gutter. I may be an erotic romance author, but today I'm actually not talking about S-E-X. I'm going to chat about anthologies. (Ah, bet you didn't see that one coming did you? You naughty minded people you.)

Okay, now that I have your mind focused in the right direction let's talk collections of novellas. They seem to be cropping up everywhere and in all genres, including romance.

With the way our lives are going it really isn't a surprise. Time has become a precious commodity. There are those days when we can barely find 2 minutes to be alone in the bathroom, let alone carve out time to read all 870 pages of the 5th Harry Potter series. But a 90 page novella? Well that can be read in an hour or so hiding in the kitchen while we pretend to make and burn dinner and then order take out.

And reading devices? I shudder at the tiny screens my children read books on these days. There's no way I could scroll through the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy without going cross-eyed. But a short romance I can enjoy on the subway ride home from work is just the ticket to keep me occupied and the creepy guy next to me with the talking hand from trying to chat with me.

Of course, like many other authors I need to feed my book addiction. (Book budget? What's that?) So I always feel like I'm getting more for my dollar when I can enjoy several books between the covers.

If you're into series reading, it's nice to finish the first book and know the second (and the third) is right there. No waiting to get to the book store or library or shuffling over to Amazon to download the next book.

Those are just a few reasons why I like anthologies. So I guess it wouldn't surprise you that I recently published an anthology. (Do you like the way I snuck that promo in? Bet you barely even noticed the segue)

Three sisters looking for love. Three men seeking redemption. Three reckless romances that will push each of them into the dangerous world of revenge ...

BLIND HER WITH BLISS: She's trying to find herself. He's attempting to hide. Together they'll discover a truth that threatens them both...

Investigating the death of her best friend, uptight accountant, JULIE TILLING, discovers a world of adult nightclubs and Internet intrigue. When shock jock DAMON COREY rocks her world in a wild night of lust, she wonders if she's found love...or the key to solving a murder.

DECEIVE HER WITH DESIRE: A woman determined to protect her heart. An agent hell bent on proving himself. One night that will change their lives forever...

Landscaper, DEIRDRE TILLING had no way of knowing that attending her friend's party would throw her into a dangerous world of corrupt businessmen and police stings. Of course her sexual romp with undercover DEA agent, AYDEN SCOTT only pushes her deeper into the drug smuggling ring running up the Maine coast. As the heat rises between Deirdre and Ayden, one thing becomes painfully obvious...their relationship has jeopardized his mission and now someone wants them both dead.

CHEAT HER WITH CHARM: He’s got a secret past. She has dreams for their future. Together they have a problem that may just kill them both…

Floral designer, MEGHAN TILLING, has been in love with her fiancĂ© since college. With her business, his promotion and a family illness, she’s finding the demands on her time are keeping them apart. PETER MADDOCK loves his fiancĂ©e with a fierceness that claws at his soul, but finding answers to his past becomes an obsession he can’t ignore. When bizarre accidents threaten Meghan’s life, he wonders if his secrets have finally caught up with him. Can they both discover the truth without paying the ultimate price …their lives?

Now available at Amazon.

I enjoy anthologies. They give you a taste of different stories that you might otherwise miss.

Plus, they are great for those times when you barely have time to read but really want a good story.

I like anthologies. The one thing I don't like is a series where you have to keep reading to get a resolution. I prefer your style where each book is a stand alone with some overlap in the characters.

Mary - That's what I like about them too, they can give you a taste of new authors you never read.

Liz - Thank you. This one was fun.

Adele - I was very pleased how these stories got packaged. Thanks for the well wishes.

Carly - I don't enjoy that type of series either which is why writing the stand alone novellas works for me.
