New Year New Goals

*Nina slides in breathless, dusting off the remnants of her crazy life*

Sorry I'm late folks. I knew I had to post on the 9th, but somewhere in my crazy, scrambled brain I thought that day was Thursday. LOL! That'll sort of explain the state of my life at the moment. I can't seem to get it to settle down long enough for me to feel grounded and wrap my head around all the things I'd like 2012 to be.

I've never been one to make resolutions. I'm like my own worst enemy when I do. Sort of "hey, you can't do that" and then I don't. But this year I've really been reassessing and looking at all the things I've accomplished as opposed to all the things I wanted to accomplish and realized the latter had become a very long list of writing goals that had yet to be fulfillied.

So this year I've deceided to stop trying to do all the things that others have done that have made them successful and just focus on the things that make me happy in my writing. I want to find the joy I used to have in sitting down at my computer and letting my characters play. Just following them as they journeyed through life bringing the bad guys to justice and falling in love.

I intend to find that again this year. Of course the insanity of my personal life will have to step aside to make room for my muse. But she's pretty tough and I think she'll manage on make herself heard over the chaos.

What about you? Do you make resolutions? How's your 2012 going so far?

Morning Nina,
Resolutions have a way of making me feel like I haven't accomplished as much as I should so I don't bother with them:)

I do however make a business plan and this year I'm looking forward to pushing the envelope a bit and trying a few new things. My muse has been tickling me again, the little devil:)

Best of luck in 2012!

Nina, you do what you do so well I think you should just concentrate on that. Don't let a lot of crap get in the way.

Nina, I empathize with you. I often feel the same way.

Nina, better late than never I say. The only resolution I made was to spend more quality time with my family. My muse has to understand that comes first this year.

Paris - You know the business plan thing isn't something I've done. That sounds like a great idea.

Nina--I've decided to focus on writing more new material this year and avoid unnecessary distractions. Write, write, write. That's my 2012 mantra.

I hope you have the best year, ever!
