Welcome Spring!

Every spring I remind myself that this is the season of rebirth, of taking stock of what I'm doing, what I need in my life and what needs to be let go. I've been reorganizing my office and wondering why I believe I need to keep every scrap of paper that I've ever jotted down an idea or bit of dialogue on. You know those lovely cardboard boxes that hold ten reams of paper? At the moment I have three. They're full of various files and notebooks that I haven't viewed in probably a year. I think it's finally time to go through them and decide what I can't live without. I also have a bulletin board that might qualify as an archaeological site.  It isn't pretty.

Besides cleaning and reorganizing my office, one of the items on my spring agenda is taking stock of where my career is headed. I'm trying new approaches to promotion, working with new cover artists, and actually having fun with my Pinterest page. I'm also trying something a little different with my writing. I've always loved paranormal romance but supernatural suspense is a genre that focuses more on the woo-woo factor. I admit Cassidy's Touch is a paranormal romance but the novella will introduce a world of demons and witches and a hero that happens to be a twist on the old sleeping beauty fairytale. I get up every morning, exited and not being able to wait to get to the computer, so I think I'm on the right track.

I'm working with a cover artist now, so you can expect a cover reveal shortly but you can order The Shadow Files, the limited edition box set that it will be part of from Barnes & Noble, Kobo or iBooks and published on August 7th.

***The Shadow Files***

Cassidy's Touch

Banishing the ghost of a handsome bootlegger who disappeared after being accused of murdering his best friend’s fiancée is the least of reality show host Cassidy Spencer’s worries. According to an expert, her ghost isn’t a ghost and if she doesn’t use her psychometric ability to find his body before the witch who cursed him does, he could end up enslaved to a demon.

Charlie “Chance” Coraggio doesn’t remember anything before he could walk through walls and that includes the crazy woman telling him he’s been asleep for nearly one-hundred years. The life he should have lived has been stolen, all the people he’s ever loved are dead and Cassidy is his only hope for a second chance at life.

Finding Chance was only half the battle. Now, both are bound by blood to a demon’s curse and to thwart the inevitable they must find out who’s coming for them and why, because the only reason for a sleeping curse that’s lasted nearly one-hundred years has to lie somewhere in a past Chance can’t remember.

Intrigued? I hope so. I'm very excited about this project and looking forward to a productive spring spent working on the next book in Cassidy's world.

I'm wishing everyone a happy spring! May the season bring you flowers, warm weather and gentle rain. Hey, I'm from the mid-west and we've built bunnies out of snow on Easter! This is a valid request:)

Hugs,

Currently self-published and published with Decadent Publishing, she like nothing better than getting lost within the pages of a good book.

When not dreaming up stories featuring heroes who aren’t intimidated by strong heroines, she can be found haunting antique and thrift stores for unique finds or planning a new flower garden. She lives in the mid-west with her husband of many years who thankfully happens to be handy in the kitchen and keeps her from starving when she’s trying to make a deadline.

Cassidy's Touch sounds wonderful. I'll read it. I understand about organizing and cleaning things out. I clean out my closet and dresser drawers every spring and fall. It's a good feeling to de-clutter. I need to clean out and organize my office too. I have boxes of stuff I need to toss.

Hi Cara,

I just knew I wasn't the only one to do a seasonal de-clutter! Thanks so much for your support. I loved writing this novella and can't wait to get started on the next story for the series.

I have three boxes that I should go through but am so not motivated. One day...

Vicki,

I totally get the not motivated part:) My office is starting to resemble an archaeology dig though and I don't have much choice!

I'm in need of a good de-clutter too! But I'd rather write!

My husband does my de-cluttering. I come home and things are missing!! It's wonderful but also a little frightening. Things are never where I left them!

I love the sound of your new series. All the best!

Oh Judy, I know that feeling well! I'm itching to get at a new story that's been in the planning stages:)

Melissa,

My husband is a great one for downsizing and will attack any project with vigor, however, I end up with the same problem. We compromised and he doesn't change anything in my office or kitchen:)
