Guest Blog: Jaydyn Chelcee: It's All About the Romance

Hi Everyone,
It’s such an honor to be here today. Before we get started, please allow me to say a big “Thank You,” to RB4U for having me for their guest. I hope you enjoy today’s subject. It’s All About The Romance.
Giveaway: Please leave a comment for a chance to win a pdf. of my latest release—WILD—book five of the Montana Men Series.

Have you ever watched a good, romantic movie, and when it ended, throw a pillow at the movie screen(TV screen—lol)? I have, simply because it was so darn good, I wasn’t ready for the story to end.

What about a book?

Ever read a romance novel that was utterly delicious and so wonderful that it left a fuzzy feeling in your tummy? And when you read The End, you were like, Noooo! I want more!

Is it because the story is so riveting that is wins our devotion or because the hero and heroine somehow manage to work their way inside our hearts and then live there forever more? Maybe it’s a bit of both? Eh?

I mean, who wasn’t riveted by Mr. Darcy from the moment he entered the ballroom and stole Lizzie’s heart? Stole our hearts? How many of us wanted more in Pride and Prejudice—more in the book and more in the movie? I know I did.

Even though the story is set in a period where courtships were difficult, don’t you think a couple who is so in love could manage a sneak kiss or two just to heat things up a bit? Or would those sneak kisses have simply ruined that magnificent tale?

I sooo wanted Mr. Darcy to seek out Lizzie and do a little bodice ripping. (Giggles)

So tell me—How do you feel about Mr. Darcy and Lizzie? More heat or no?

With my hero and heroine in WILD, there’s plenty of heat and romance, but mainly, it’s a story about second chances for two people who desperately need each other and a new beginning. Who doesn’t love a tale about second chances? We all need them. Don’t we?

Please leave a comment and tell me what your all time favorite romance novel/movie is and your reason for loving it. I promise I’ll drop your name in the cowboy hat. Later today, there will be a drawing. Good luck! I can’t wait to read what your opinions are of Darcy and Lizzie…
Happy Reading,
Jaydyn Chelcee

Your book sounds really good and I too love the cover. I've read books or seen movies that made me sigh and want more. There are so many favorites. Two books that come to mind are "A Knight in Shining Armor" by Jude Deveraux. I cried at the end and read the ending over several times. I was actually a bit sad at the end. It didn't work out exactly as I wanted, yet I cried and didn't want it to end. "Green Darkness" by Anya Seton is one I read over and over again in the 70's. Didn't want it to end. Some of my favorite romance movies are oldies from the Forties, like "The More the Merrier" and "Christmas in "Connecticut." I'm a lover of old movies. Great blog.

Hi Cara,
I've never read either author you mention, but I'm a sucker for sad endings and great romances. I've read The Flame and the Flower dozens of times and it's still one of my favorites. Ty for commenting...Jaydyn

OMG...I was soooo thrilled when I found an antho with Jeff's (Brandon's little bro from TFATF) story! I used to dream about how Brandon and Heather's lives continued, once the drama was over and they learned to live as a family!

And Cara, I'm with you on AKISA....but it was nice to finally see him get credit:)

I've never read the sequels to TFATF, Molly, I didn't want to ruin the story I knew and loved in my head, but i think it was actually the first bodice ripper romance I ever read...quite shocking at the time...Jaydyn

Hi there, Jaydyn! ;)

I enjoyed this post so much. I love the way Wild makes me ache over the heartache standing between Wild and Jayla. They go from a bitter beginning to a beautiful love. And I think that's why we come back to romances like this, over and over again, to see Love conquer all. This is why I enjoyed Wild so much.

And I have to agree wholeheartedly with Cara, who commented on her love for Green Darkness by Anya Seton. It's been a long time since I read that book, and I've never forgotten it. It is Gothic romance at its best.

Yeah, I love P&P too, for the same reason, and the film I go back to is Sleepless in Seatle.
