I decided this Christmas to give my readers a couple of things they hadn't read before. Nashville SEAL is my novella as part of the Holding Out For A Hero Anthology on KU exclusive. I was allowed to also publish it stand alone, and I did an audio book as well as print version. Because Nashville SEAL is about a singer-songwriter, and my narrator, J.D. Hart, has been a singer-songwriter in Nashville, I took some of the stories he's told me and added my own imagination to create a fun read. This character even wrote a couple of songs (my talents as a songwriter are much less than that of a novelist). He wrote one, and I wrote one. Some of the lines J.D. sang in the audio book.
And then the cherry on top, J.D. sang "He's Got My Eyes," which was a song he performed in Nashville when he was a young Nashville star. I'm not sure how many audio books have the narrator singing, but this one of ours will be a gold standard, I'm sure. It has been selling very well, too. You can enjoy a clip here.
My readers are also getting another beloved character, Fredo, in a novella that comes out this next week, Fredo's Secret. I have gotten so many emails about this SEAL, who is not the most handsome of all my guys, but yet he gets the beautiful Mia, the most gorgeous of all the SEAL wives and girlfriends. He and Coop are an unlikely pair of Team buddies: Coop is a tall farmboy from Nebraska, drinks healthy drinks and no alcohol, Fredo won't eat anything green except cilantro and green chilis, and thinks getting his unibrow tweezed is unmanly. I had a lot of fun with Fredo.
Whatever your reading tastes, I hope that you'll support an Indie writer, buy their books for yourself or for others on your Christmas list. I hope all the blessings of the Season come true, and you have a sparkly New Year.

A sparkly new year to you too. I like that wish, it says so much. Hate bronchitis, get well and sell lots in the coming year...
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you are under the weather. I hope you feel better soon! Both books sound great and how wonderful to have such a talented narrator.
ReplyDeleteJean,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Yes, I'll begin to enjoy Christmas better, once I get out of a nightie! Yes, looking forward to a great 2016. Same to you!
Melissa,
ReplyDeleteYes, I was to have flown to Kentucky for a Christmas Carol presentation directed by Robyn Peterman. JD and I were to meet up there. I'm missing all that now, being stuck in bed. He is indeed my secret weapon, and I'm so lucky to have found him. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Sharon, I hope you feel better. I see you have the LOVE sign from Philly. Great picture. I love your SEAL books.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cara. I am advertising your book too, since I can't figure out how to use my FB account to reflect my own images, but what the heck. Might as well spread the love around, right?
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas. I'm better today. But had a big sleep last 2 days.
The Cheer will continue long after the bronchitis has gone. So sorry you got the bug and we missed the play in Kentucky. Glad you are feeling better my princess. Merry Christmas to you and the greatest new year imaginable! xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteSame for you, my prince! You have the best Christmas and New Year ever! Thanks for being part of my great 2015!!
