Great guests today!
And don't mis the contests at the end of the blog.
Please tell me a little background).
Still Moments Magazine was created for the ‘Busy Woman’.
Independently developed and published, Still Moments Magazine ran as a print
edition from 2003 through 2005 with thriving readership across Canada, US,
Europe, and around the globe. Due to the overwhelming requests we received for
the magazine to return, Still Moments Magazine received a rebirth in the form
of a digital magazine. The new PDF format will follow the path of its successor
with an editorial philosophy of positive reading and enjoyment.
Why did you decide to create the magazine?
With today’s schedule of working a day job, driving the
children to one event or another, housework, cooking meals (etc.) there’s
little time left in a woman’s day to enjoy a quiet moment. When we do get that
rare moment, it should be spent doing something to relieve the stress of our
day, an escape…a Still Moment.
What attracted you to the romance industry?
Still Moments Magazine focuses on more than just romance.
While we do have a feature called ‘Between The Pages’ where we review romance
books, we also include articles of women’s interests, recipes, and regular
features such as Home, Garden, Beauty, Fashion, Music, and a new feature we
added this summer ‘Classifieds’.
Q and A for RB4U blog
– Still Moments Magazine
Please tell me a little bit about yourself(ves). Background,
etc.

What are the things you look for to feature on your blog?
Our web blog’s main focus is our ‘Between The Pages’ feature
where we publish book reviews. Our web blog allows our followers to view
current reviews as well of a list of titles reviewed in the past. We also
promote the covers of books on Our Reading List. Our book reviews are posted on
our web blog, Amazon.com, and published in the magazine. Book reviews also
receive shout outs on our social media sites.
What is one of the best things that has happened with the magazine?
Our readership has grown substantially over the last few
years. We maintained a good subscriber list during our print run, but going
digital has helped spread the word about the magazine, which has vastly
increased our subscribers. We also now have the Still Moments Magazine Reader’s
Choice Review Awards. We recently announced the winners from our list of 2014
reviews.
How do you see the industry today as opposed to ten years
ago?
Print distribution was very costly to run, where the digital-age
makes distribution cost-effective and more convenient for our subscribers. They
receive the magazine through email and are able to flip through the page at
their convenience by computer, tablet, or cell phone.
Where do you see the magazine going in the next ten years?
We’re currently distributing the magazine four times a year
(seasonal: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter). We’ve recently brought back a few
of our popular features such as Home and Beauty. We have several new ideas for
the magazine, but timing is a factor on rolling out those features. If you’re
not already a subscriber, be sure to contact us to stay connected on upcoming
news. Did we forget to mention that subscription is free!
What are the things that stand out most in your mind?
We offer writers and businesses a chance to get their
product in front of a huge audience. We have discounted advertising rates that
won’t break the wallet. We also include opportunities of free promotion with
book reviews, interviews, articles, recipes, and classified ads.
If you could ask for one perfect item for your magazine what
would it be?
To bring even more to our readers!
If you are looking for ‘free’ ways to promote your
product/book, Still Moments Magazine wants to hear from you! What we’re
seeking…People to interview, articles of women’s interest, and recipes. (These
items include a bio). News for our Classified feature such as events, blog
tours, cover reveals, Facebook parties, new releases, book sales, newsletter
sign up links, Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook page links, or other news. Send
us your info and we’ll add it to our classified section. Please note, the
classified section is text only, one line of the event, date, your name, and
web link. Space is limited.
