Stuff you didn't know you didn't know ! ! !

Hope these interest you as much as they did me!

1. Men can read smaller print than women can; women can hear better.

2. Coca-Cola was originally green.

3. It is impossible to lick your elbow.

4. The state with the highest percentage of people who walk to work: Alaska.

5. The percentage of Africa that is wilderness: 28%
The percentage of North America that is wilderness: 38%

6. The average number of people airborne over the U.S. at any             given hour: 61,000.

7. Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair.

8. The first novel written on a typewriter was Tom Sawyer.

9. The San Francisco Cable Cars are the only national monuments.

10. Each king in a deck of playing cards represents a great king from history.
Spades,  King David.  Hearts, Charlemagne.  Clubs, Alexander the Great. Diamonds, Julius Caesar.

11. This one floored me!
     111,111,111 x 111,111,111 = 12,345,678,987,654,321.

12. If the statue in the park of a person on a horse had both front legs in the air, that person died in battle. If the horse has one front leg in the air, that person died of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

And the one I startled me!  Only two people signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4th.  John Hancock and Charles Thompson. Most of the rest signed on August 2,  but the last signature wasn't add until 5 years later.

A good friend sent me these and there are about 20 more I can supply.  I think your mind kind of shuts off after a while, and you stop appreciating them. Idea for a future column, if y'all want to hear more. I don't want to bore you nice people.

My own writing is most satisfactory...have four or five books scheduled to come out at MuseItUp, the publishing house I've shifted to after deciding I wanted to write something beside erotica. And of course am looking forward to the Romance Books 4 Us anthology which will come out later this year. You can find me at all the usual places, Amazon, Kindle, Pininterest, Facebook, Twitter, and of course at my own website, www.jeanhartstewart.com

Would love to hear which one of these facts most caught your eye, so do comment....

May 2015 be a wonderful year for all of you!

  2. Jean,
Your post had me smiling, especially #1. With a husband and two sons, I can attest that women hear better than men. I suspect it's a selective hearing thing:). The one that snagged my attention though was #12, the statue designations. Congratulations on all of your upcoming books with MuseItUp!

  8. I had to try to lick my elbow! What a fun post! I loved them all but found the one on statues to be very interesting. I never knew that! Now I'll look at statues in a different way!
