By the time this posts, I'll be on my way to Detroit Metropolitan Airport to begin the journey to New Orleans for the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention. At least I hope so. The tornado siren warnings have been going off all day today. I really hope this doesn't mess up my trip.
I'm looking forward to the con for a number of reasons:
1) I adore gettting together with my fellow writers, my editors, publishers, and most of all, READERS! There's no bigger thrill for me than that.
2) I've never been to New Orleans. I've got a Ghost/Vampire tour scheduled for Tuesday (tonight!) and there's a supervised tour of Bourbon Street later in the week. For the first time at RT, I plan to spend at least some of my time OUT of the hotel.
3) My life this spring has been bloody well insane. I'm honestly looking forward to a break after moving and continually helping raise my grandspawn. I even have a shiny new tablet so I can actually WRITE! I'm as excited about that as anything else.
4) Dressing up. Even though I'm flying in for the first time, so my luggage is limited, I still have a few tricks up my sleeve. Especially look for me at the Intergalactic Bar and Grille, the panel on writing alternate history, the Steampunk Carnivale Tea, the Mardi Gras parade event, and of course, the Giant Book Fair. Just for fun, here are a few photos from previous years.
Have a good week, everyone, and if you're in NOLA, be sure to look me up!
Have fun! I can't wait to hear all about it. I'm jealous that I can't go but I'm sure you will have a blast! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteYou deserve a break. Have a great time! Tell us all about it when you get back.
ReplyDeleteI'm so envious. Enjoy! We all need a break now and then.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl, have a wonderful time!!!
ReplyDeleteLove NOLA! Haven't been there since the hurricane, though. If I wasn't such a lazy writer, and my royalties were good again, I would attend several conferences a year.
ReplyDeleteSigh. My own fault.
HaVE FUN FOR ME.
