What are YOU thankful for?
I am thankful for puppies and kittens. Newborn foals and wobbly-legged calves. I am thankful for clouds and the promise of rain or snow in a dry world. I am thankful for clean streams and beautiful mountain lakes. I am thankful for friends and family and those who show care to others who are not their family. I am thankful for wireless mice that work. I am thankful for the hard work of authors that give me great books to read. I am thankful for clean air (when it shows up) and the beauty of the snow-clad mountains looming above us.
I am thankful for the kindness of people and for the generosity of those who share food, toys, clothes, and other needed things with those who have very little. I am thankful for health and love and all the things we tend to take for granted in life. I am thankful that I live in the USA, rather than having been born in a country where women are chattel and are owned by the males around them. I am thankful that I have enough to feed myself and mine, and have enough left over to help feed those who don't have enough.
I am thankful that I found a marvelous publisher and have a second career after having retired. I am thankful that my muse is still alive and well (even if she needs a kick in the pants every now and then) and I am thankful for having friends who step up and help to lift me back up when I fall.
I am thankful for my adult children...for my wonderful grandchildren...and for not having ruined their lives with my lousy parenting skills.
But mostly I am thankful that I have lived responsibly, joyfully...and have managed to turn old pains into new happiness.
There is always something new and special around the corner. A door or window always opens when your path seems to have been blocked. The promise of life never vanishes...it only waits to be found with fresh eyes and new hope.
Have a joyful Thanksgiving...
Hugs,
Fran Lee

ReplyDeleteNOTE: I just deleted a blatantly commercial promo telling you how to buy stock and make money left by an "anonymous" commenter.
ReplyDeletePeople who slip in an uninvited commercial promo when people are leaving comments for a post on any blog site are extremely rude and if you see these pop up, feel free to zap them into oblivion.
Thanks so much for all of your wonderful responses. I am thankful for you being my pals. :)
