Taxes iz paid...and I iz broked...
Guess I need to have more tax taken out of my retirement...trouble is, they don't take out for State tax. Sigh. Either way, I still owe every year. Never used to when I was working...then I retired and lucky me! If I break even on my book sales, or make a little profit, I end up with self-employment taxes, too. Being in the 99% sucks! If I only had a few more million bucks in earnings each year, I might not have to pay taxes at all. Sigh. Sob...snif...
Been sick as heck for a week or more. Don't have enough energy to write much. Hope you are all well, and the IRS didn't take too much of a bite.
Hugs...
Fran
Hope you're feeling better soon, Fran.
ReplyDeleteNow to those nasty taxes. You want to owe at the end of the year rather than getting a big fat refund. Why? Because with a refund you're allowing the IRS to hold your funds interest free. It's better to put that dough in the bank and earn what interest you can. I know, I know, it's not a lot but it's better than nothing.
My tax gal has told me the above for years. Try to break even on tax day or owe a little, rather than hope for an interest free refund. :)
Fran, I hope you feel better soon.

ReplyDeleteFran, I hope you get well soon. I really laughed at the kitty pictures. lol So cute.
Fran, I feel your pain about taxes. 2011 will be the first year I have to pay a self-employment tax. Not looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteSorry you're sick. Hope you feel better.
PS-love the kitties.
