Baby, it's cold outside...brrrrr....

So here is something to help you break into a sweat...

January is one of the coldest months of the year (unless you happen to live in the southern hemisphere), and I am always trying to find things to heat the world up a bit.  I am currently working on a wip that started out almost too hot too fast.  Now that it has exploded all over the place, I have to flesh it out so that readers won't think it is ALL sex.  There must be romance. There must be a great plot.  But my muse just jumped right in with both dainty size nines and started heating things up instantly.

I love a sexy hot romance, but dayam...I like to put in a bit of foreplay to make it more enjoyable.  So I poured ice water over my muse and demanded that she cool it a bit.  Sigh.  Once you rush into the heat, it's hard to cool it down and stretch out the plot.  LOL!

Ever had one that caught you up instantly and you had to go back and revise so that you didn't burn your reader up in the first three chapters?  Maybe I will simply set it aside and let it simmer while I work on something else.  Maybe it will be cool enough to handle once I let it rest a bit.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.  I am still recovering from Thanksgiving!

Hugs to all....

Fran Lee

  2. Hot bods always welcome. Thanks for the heat on this bitter cold January day.

You're right about stretching the sexual tension to make a book better. Best of luck with the WIP!

  5. Great post, Fran. I've been there. The characters are intense and the chemistry is explosive. Then you are forced to slow down and remind the heroine that the hero is a person and not a piece of meat. Lol

Best of luck to you. If you need a whip let me know. :)
