December Is A Party Month:)

Hopefully you know by now today's my (our) birthday.  And surprise, surprise, I had two books release this month!  Kenzie's Teacher's Pet released on the 13th, so I thought I'd let you take a look at the Christmas scene:

After unloading presents and putting the leftovers away, Kevin gathered Tammy under the mistletoe and kissed her.

She held still and savored the warmth of his body heat, the quietness of the empty house, and the taste of his tongue. His fingers released the barrette from her hair, tunneled through the heavy mass, and cupped the back of her head.

The masculine scent of his sandalwood cologne penetrated her nostrils and sent ripples of excitement to her lower belly. She wound her arms around his neck and molded her body to his. The hard bulge a delight against her leg, she tilted her pelvis toward it and ended the kiss.

“Come on. Come with me to bed, Kevin.”

“I’d follow you anywhere.”

She slipped from his grasp, took him by the hand, and led him into the darkened bedroom.

Later, she snuggled against his damp chest.

 “Merry Christmas.” She traced his jaw with a fingertip.

“Merry Christmas.”

“Kevin?”

“Hmm?”

“Thank you. Do you know I’ve never made love on Christmas Day?”

 Amazement sprinkled his voice. “You’re kidding. Never?”

She shook her head. “First time.”

His arms tightened around her. “I’m glad it was with me, then.”

 “So were you able to get it?” Geoff helped himself to another drink.

 “Yeah, hey, go easy on that, will you? I want some saved for tonight.” Matt smiled as he thought of all the plans he'd made. “She was really surprised, wasn't she?”

 “You could have knocked her for a loop, Slagal.” Jason clapped him on the back. “I've never seen Amy speechless before.”

Troy shook his head.  “I almost had a heart attack when she asked me about the party before her graduation.  I thought maybe she’d overheard something.”

 “I know; thank God she was joking with you. I just hope she likes her present.” Matt's hand went to the box in his pocket.

 “Can we see it?” Troy looked around.“Or do we have to wait until you give it to her?”

 Matt looked in the direction of the bathroom then brought out the black velvet box. He opened it to reveal a single diamond on a circle of gold. “I hope to God it fits.”

 “Well, even if it doesn't, I know she'll like it. All women like diamond rings.”

 Matt put the box back in his pocket. “She told me what she wanted about a year ago, so I tried to find the right size. I swiped her college ring the day I picked it out, to get the ring size.”

 “How many carats?”

 “She said she wanted a fourth, but all I could find was a third.”

 “Damn, you got off easy! Kelly wants a whole carat.” Geoff groaned.

 Matt clapped him on the back. “I feel for you son.”

 Kelly and Amy emerged. The snug fitting dress emphasized Amy’s slight figure and the color set off the gold highlights in her hair. Matt whistled at her.

 “I think I've got the best looking babe in the world.”

 “Do I look all right?” Amy had an anxious expression on her face.

 “Honey, if you looked any better, I'd want to keep you here. In fact, I'm not so sure that's not such a bad idea.”
