Guest Blog: Cate Masters: I Need a Hero!

Maybe I had the Bonnie Tyler song in my head when I wrote my latest release. Do you remember the video from the Eighties? All those women flailing around the screen, their song calling mysterious heroes from the shadows?

Romancing the Hero’s like that .But so much more fun (and a hunkier hero, lol). See for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/embed/JfgL3_ptTNM

Oh yeah, I’d love to conjure a hero like Jake Emerson myself! But for Jody Feather, Jake provides a much-needed boost to her ego, faltering after a bad breakup with a clueless guy. Jody deserves better. And Jakes gives her just what she needs, and more. *grins*

BLURB:
For romance writer Jody Feather, love is wonderful—on the page. Her books are instant bestsellers and readers love her delectable hero, Jake Emerson. He’s the kind of man who knows exactly how to please a woman. The kind of man who doesn’t really exist. Or at least not for Jody—she’s too busy writing about delicious heroes to find one of her own.

When a man shows up on her doorstep claiming to be Jake Emerson, Jody’s hormones shoot sky high. This would-be hero is everything she imagined him to be, and when Jody takes him to her book signing, readers swoon. But Jake only has eyes—and compliments—for her. Before long, Jody stops doubting his story and starts doubting her sanity.

When Jake convinces her she is overdue for love, Jody begins to wonder—instead of just writing about adventures, has she conjured one?

I’d love for you to read the excerpt, where Jody first meets Jake. In the flesh! It’s here: http://catemasters.blogspot.com/2009/08/romancing-hero-contemporary-fantasy.html

What hero would you conjure, if you had the chance? Leave a comment on this post by Sunday, Nov. 13, and I’ll give away an ebook of Romancing the Hero to one lucky reader!

  4. I tend to go for the dark, silent hero type. That, however, is hard to write. :)

I love the premise of your story, Cate. Way to really bring your hero to life. :)

  5. Thanks Paris! Writing does provide a fun and interesting escape. And yes it's great to have first shot at the hero, lol.

Thanks so much Liz! Hope you enjoy it. :)

    Much appreciated, Sandy!

Me too, Paula! It's so much fun.

That type would be difficult to write, Laurie! But interesting to read a different hero. Thanks for your kind words.
