BIO: Adele Dubois is an award-winning, multi-published author. She’s a former newspaper and magazine columnist, features writer, and foreign correspondent published in the Caribbean, UK, and USA.
When not on the beach by the ocean, or walking along the quiet shores of a Delaware bay, she and her family enjoy their rural eastern Pennsylvania home where she is currently working on her next novel.
Q: What part of the book is the easiest for you to write? Why?
A: I love to write story openings. The first scene in REV ME TWICE was one of the most fun I’ve ever written. I’ve included the first paragraphs of Chapter One in the excerpt, below. I hope you enjoy this tiny slice of the story.
Q: What part of the book is the hardest for you? Why?
A: Right before I end a book, I hesitate. Sometimes I procrastinate a day or two before finishing the story. I think it’s hard for me to let go sometimes.
Q: Do you eat comfort food when writing? If so, what food inspires your imagination?
A: I try not to eat when I’m working because food makes me sluggish when I most need to stay sharp. Of course, I do cheat, and when I do, I eat chocolate. Milk, not dark. I love chocolate!
Q: What hobby do you enjoy when not writing?
A: When I’m not writing, I volunteer for my local chapter of Romance Writers of America. I love to read and also like movies and television. I’m totally dedicated to my career and don’t have time for anything beyond my family, friends, and writing. I do take vacations each year, though, and prefer the beach to sightseeing.
Q: What’s your strongest point as a writer?
A: My readers and publishing partners tell me my books are packed with emotion. That’s a huge compliment, because if a story I’ve written makes a reader feel something, that means we’ve connected. I really do pour myself into my books, so I like hearing that I’ve made someone laugh or cry. If I can do that, I know I’ve done my job.
Q: You’re on a remote island with a handsome man, a computer, and a “mysterious” source of electricity to power your computer. What do you do?
A: That sounds like the perfect scenario for a writer. If I had a handsome man to keep me company after a day of writing in solitude, and the Internet to keep me connected, I’d be perfectly content. Actually, that sounds like my everyday life, minus the island!

BLURB:
Crystal is a bad, bad girl in the most delicious ways. She tries to be good and is tempted to commit to her Navy MP boyfriend, Tomas, but has no experience with an exclusive relationship or healthy family structure. She likes her life as a cable TV stripping weather girl and sex party host, and resists conforming to the traditional lifestyle Tomas craves. Without her weekly ménages and wild orgies, can she become the partner Tomas wants?
When Crystal receives death threats, a media frenzy erupts. During a break-in, the threatening letters are stolen, erasing evidence that thwarts an arrest. Tomas sports Crystal away on his Harley to protect her, but a deadly crash changes everything. Faced with the choice between self-interest and self-sacrifice, Crystal must decide if she will embrace a new life with Tomas or walk away.
EXCERPT:
Chapter One
When the light turned green, Tomas Alvarez revved his black and chrome Harley-Davidson CVO with red flame graphics, engaged the clutch and hit the shifter with the sole of his right leather boot. The front end of the bike lifted off the asphalt and leaped forward like a bull from a rodeo gate.
His engine roared, rubber smoked beneath his feet and his laughter rumbled with the exhaust system as he left the pussy in the pimped up GTO in his dust. The driver in the restored classic car had been hot-dogging him for miles and it was time to shake him loose. He chuckled and savored his tiny victory.
Tomas revved again and then held the grips tight, flexing his arm and shoulder muscles with the movements. Glare from the late afternoon sun glinted off his black-as-night shades. As he picked up speed, he relished the hot wind gusts slicing over his skin. Warm grit flecked his face. The smells of clean air and fresh tar wrapped around him like his favorite cologne.
Crystal Miller swatted his stomach with one hand while she tightened her hold around his waist with the other. She screamed over the engine noise, “Did you have to do that? Don’t forget I’m back here, you moron!” Both hands wrapped tighter around his abs and then fisted his t-shirt like a woman wringing laundry.
Tomas only laughed and sped up. “He deserved it and I know you liked it.”
Crystal was as hooked on speed and danger as he was. More so, despite his officer training. The brush of Crystal’s breasts against his back when her nipples hardened during acceleration proved his point. When she rested her cheek on his shoulder, he knew she’d closed her eyes to intensify the thrill. Her breathing quickened and she flattened her palms on his stomach as the Harley roared down the highway toward the Washington Monument.
She could yell at him all she wanted, this chick loved to fly.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you for having me as your guest. It’s a pleasure visiting with you.

Hey, Adele - I'm a chocoholic too - but for me, dark is my poison!!
Love Tomas - what a great story you've penned!
Hi, Adele, my friend. Good interview. I love dark chocolate too. I also love writing the first chapter and hate to leave a book. Your dedication, drive and talent are an inspiration.
Tina--I pegged you for a chocolate lover from the start. We're a perfect match. I'll take the milk, you take the dark.
Thanks for the kudos on my book. That makes me happy.
Cara--Your kind words made my day! Thank you. Big hugs.
Thanks for stopping by, my friends!
Best--Adele
Hi Adele - Great interview! I'm into dark chocolate too, no mile for me (I'm allergic unfortunately). I have a hard time ending books too for the same reason. That's what I like about writing a series. I can visit the characters I love in the next book!
Robin :)
I admire your talent and discipline as a writer and I'm very much looking forward to seeing Adele phase 2 unfold later this year.
When I bring chocolate into the house I have to get Milk chocolate for my son and his friends so the kids will be distracted from the almost bitter dark, dark chocolate I love! lol
XXOO Kat
Nice interview, Adele. Love it when you write bad girls!
Hi Adele *gives her big hug*. I really admire your writing discipline. Congrats on all your success. I know there's so much more in store for you (and for us as readers).
Pssst ... DARK chocolate is really so much better. ;)
Robin, Kat, Miriam, Nina--What's up with you all loving dark chocolate while I prefer the milk?(Robin's allergic, so she's excused.) I didn't realize I was unique among artistic women. LOL.
You gals always lift me up and make me feel so good. Thank you for your support. Big hugs.
Best--Adele
Adele I forgot to mention that after one of last month's RBRU posts, where you got me worked up about craving lemon curd...unbidden my neighbor across the street walked over and handed me a jar of homemade lemon curd made from lemons on her trees. I hadn't tasted lemon curd in years. It was wonderful. I think you created a Christmas miracle!
Now I'm waiting for someone to come over and bring some really good milk chocolate... lol
XXOO Kat
Kat--That's an amazing coincidence! (Though "they say" there are no coincidences...) It must be kismet. Try some on gingerbread and lmk if you like it.
Best--Adele
sevingduGreat excerpt...Love your characters. Only one complaint with your interview...I love milk chocolate. How can anybody disagree?
