Are You Intuitive or Psychic? with @kathykulig #RB4U #Romance

Intuition and psychic power, are they one in the same? Is it possible for us to learn how to become psychic? Intuition is often called ‘gut instinct’ or ‘spidey sense’ from the comic Spiderman. And psychics are thought to have ESP (extrasensory perception) a more advanced level of skill. Have you ever been driving and suddenly felt you should slow down for no reason? And then a second later, someone cuts you off? If you hadn’t received that feeling, you would’ve been in an accident. Many times mothers get a ‘feeling’ that their child is hurt or in danger before anything happens, or knows when something did happen. Have you thought about a person you haven’t seen or heard from in ages, and then you get a phone call or text from that person? At a party or social gathering, you meet a stranger and get an instant like or dislike for no reason for that person, only to find out later your instinct was correct.

I’m sure you can think of similar experiences you had like these.

So is this intuition or psychic power? Personally, I think it is all the same skill, a sixth sense that originates within the mind and can be developed. It’s true some people are more intuitive than others. Perhaps psychics have been able to take intuition to the next level by developing it to an advanced state. Why, then, do some appear to be much more sensitive like they have a natural gift?

In the same way we all could learn to play the piano if we were given lessons and practiced hours every day. We could play, but maybe not be exceptional musicians. There are others who have a natural ability and with the same or less training, will play the piano like a Grand Master.

I’ve studied psychic phenomenon and parapsychology in various areas and also quantum physics for over thirty years. I met my first very talented psychic- an elderly gentlemen and friend of the family- when I was fifteen. I learned a lot from him. I’ve since met many talented psychics and learned from them. I also met many who weren’t so skilled, if at all, who were good at reading people and giving generalizations. The ones who only give generalized readings may have their hearts in the right place in wanting to help people and give good guidance, (some are just looking to make money too), but they will never be Grand Master psychics.

Scientists have been studying parapsychology for years. ESP experiments are attempting to demonstrate that the human mind can receive information beyond the five senses that this sixth sense is also real. The mind/brain has the ability to collect data from the physical world and non-physical world. Quantum physics supports the existence of a second, non-physical universe. If you know anything about quantum physics, there’s a theory that says thoughts are energy, in fact, all physical reality is energy. That’s what I believe, that psychics have the ability to align themselves with the energy that surrounds us all and collect information. If psychics can tap into and utilize this energy, maybe they have access to the energy fields of other people -- present, past and future.

Okay, going too geek on you all.

In my latest book, Red Tape Protector, I have a secondary character Mr. Li who is a martial arts instructor for our heroine. He also teaches her how to meditate. He gives her a psychic warning to be careful. She’ll have to face death three times during her mission and if she’s not careful she could be killed. Fortunately, she does take the warning to heart. And in my current book, Red Tape Betrayal, my heroine, Raven, has that spidey sense. She has a psychic connection with an old friend who turns up and causes major conflict in the story.

Do you think you’re psychic? What are the signs you might have hidden abilities?

1.   Your gut instinct is often right.

2.   You have very vivid, detailed dreams, some may be prophetic.

3.   You’ve had visions (awake or in dreams) of future events that have happened.

4.   You feel like you can send, or receive messages with your thoughts.  (telepathy)

5.   You can touch a person or an object and sense something about the person’s or the object’s history. (psychometry)

6.   Can sense trouble or danger before it happens. Similar to instinct or intuition.

7.   Flying dreams may be astral projecting.

8.   Ability to heal yourself and others by touch.

What can you do if you want to develop your skills?

1.   Meditate. Probably the most effective way to develop latent talents of ESP is to calm and focus the mind. Regular meditation will help you become more in tuned and open. It will also help relieve stress.

2.   Thinking positive. Negative thoughts can bog down your mind and make you physically ill. Positive thinking helps to open you to the world around you.

3.   Eating healthy. If your body is busy digesting heavy, unhealthy meals, your mind is foggy and unfocused. How alert do you feel after a big Thanksgiving dinner?

4.   Be more aware of your surroundings. Sit with your eyes closed, listen, feel for impressions, listen to sounds you may tune out. Learn to pick up impressions when they come to you.

5.   Keep a journal of your thoughts and dreams.

6.   Getting back to nature. Finding a time to embrace silence, peace and solitude is a great way to train your mind to be more alert, more sensitive.

In the same way you can develop a muscle through exercise, I believe you can develop your psychic skills through meditation and study.
