Interview of Author Ambrielle Kirk

Today I'm presenting an interview of romance author Ambrielle Kirk.

Latest Book: Unleash: Soul Bond Book Two

BIO:
Ambrielle Kirk is an author of romantic fiction ranging from contemporary erotic to dark paranormal romance. She likes to bring flair and edge to anything she writes. She was inspired to create stories in her pre-teen years from a very vivid imagination. Now, over a decade later, that inspiration has never left her. She must write and share the stories that she was meant to write and share since her early childhood. Alpha-heroes take the center stage in her plots, because they command her attention and she has a weakness for them. Her demanding day job keeps her busy in the city of Atlanta, but her characters fill her imagination at night.

Q What’s the first thing you did when you received word you’d sold a book?
A: I was so excited. It felt like I’d run the lottery or something.  It felt surreal. Among the first people I told were my husband and critique partners. I went out for dinner and drinks to celebrate and the next day I immediately started working on the next book.

Q: What part of the books is the easiest for you to write? Why?
A: My favorite part of the book would have to be the climax or the part where almost everything is at stake and the characters stand to lose it all. For some reason, I get revved up about it. I guess it's also because once I cross midpoint, it's a matter of time before I can type "the end".

Q: What part of the book is the hardest for you? Why?
A: The hardest part would have to be the introduction chapters or the first act. As a reader, if I lose interest in the beginning chapters, I tend to put a book down. I fiddle and nitpick over a lot of details in the first 3 or so chapters.

Q: Do you eat comfort food when writing? If so, what food inspires your imagination?
A: Yes, I do eat on short breaks from writing. I usually get started with a nice hot cup of tea or coffee. I may have bite size snacks, like chocolate on the side. I do like to keep my hands free though to type, especially if my muse is on fire with motivation that day.

Q: What’s your strongest point as a writer?
A: My strongest point as a writer would have to be the world-building and plotting. I used to “pants” 100% of the time when I first started writing, but I find that I can finish projects faster when I have a plot. When I have a timeline for how I plan on getting from point A to point B, it helps me stay on task.

Q: You’re on a remote island with a handsome man, a computer, and a “mysterious” source of electricity to power your computer. What do you do?
A: I just relax. Let’s face it. We all need a vacation every now and then…even from writing.

Tell us where to find you:

BLURB:
Raiden, estranged son of Rajin, heir to throne of Kastanbul, has roamed Earth for decades. Feeling undeserving of his freedom from Otherworld, he is also unaccepted by the humans. For this demon, a soul means nothing when purpose is non-existent, but the life he’d settled for is uprooted when he saves an enchanting witch…

Erin escapes the protection of her coven on a journey to solve the mystery of her dreams. Raiden is the only one who can help her find the treasure—the key and possibly the missing link that will banish evil from this realm.

While unearthing age-old secrets of her ancestors,
Erin discovers what it means to be wanted instead of cast aside. Taught never to trust freely, she finds acceptance and safety within a demon’s arms, but will she reject her duty to her coven by accepting Raiden’s love?

As if some outside force pushed them together, their mouths bonded in a kiss. His touch against hers was soft. She parted her lips and invited his tongue to meet hers. Their breathing grew heavy, and they tasted of each other. This union was just as powerful as their first kiss. His power seemed to rage through him now as it had then. Her gifts begged to be utilized, and her soul wanted to know him intimately.

He slid his hands over her waist, hips, and thighs, and her body heated in response. She tangled her fingers with his hair and grasped the back of his neck as she brought him closer into her. He groaned when her thigh grazed the front of his pants, connecting with his arousal.

"Raiden." She leaned back for air.

His lips dwelled along her collarbone. He continued to torture her as his tongue glided across her exposed neck and shoulders and then finally to the curves of her breasts. One small tug on her tank top and she was nearly exposed to him. Her back arched as she offered herself to his tender kisses.

"You should tell me to stop. Now," he mumbled into her chest.

"Don't stop." She pulled him closer. "Love me the way you want to be loved. Show me how to love you."

He hissed, drawing in a long breath. "This is a dangerous thing you ask me to do."

"You, danger, and I work well together, don't you think?" It was supposed to come out as a joke, but when she finally said it, she realized how serious her statement was.

He dragged his lips from her neck and met her eyes. The intensity in his stare reminded her of the lightning bolts from the painting. They sparked a jolt of pleasure between her legs. He kissed her again, hungrily this time. Her curiosity egged her on, and she slid her hands down into the front of his pants.

Raiden closed his eyes and rested his head back onto the pillow as she cupped a handful of his desire. She grabbed warm flesh and hard steel, and her hands tried to hold everything, but the tight squeeze in his pants and his large size prevented this. Her breath hitched in shock when he grew even larger. Warm liquid coated her pussy, and her stomach clenched in need.

His eyes flew open, and he led her down again, until her back hit the bed. He lifted her shirt over her head with haste. She unclipped her bra and tossed it on top of the shirt. Oh, how she wanted this...probably just as much as he. His head lowered slowly, and he enveloped a pebbled nipple between his lips. Her back arched off the bed as a surge of pleasure shocked her. He cupped her back with one hand and suckled each breast with precision. Each tongue tug unleashed a fury of sensations through her body. She had never felt this way before.

Raiden thrust his groin into her stomach and traced her lips with his own. "I want to taste all of you, Erin." He fumbled with her zipper to gain access and smoothed his palm across her stomach.

Her body writhed and arched into his as their tongues meshed in their own dance. His fingers traced the edges of her panties. Her pussy ached. Her clit burned in torture. It was excruciating and hurt so good.

Erin moaned as his fingers circumvented the thin cloth covering her sensitive mound. She spread her legs wider, and his fingers dipped into her wet heat. He slid his digits down into her folds, stroking her. It only made things better, as her juices flowed around his roving fingers.

"I bet you taste just as sweet as you smell, beauty."

How Close to Reality Should You Get in Fiction?

First, I must apologize in case I've used this blog before.  We have company coming, and I have been cleaning house all week.  Yes, it was that dirty, she says while shaking her head.

I write about real life, so I believe its okay to make your situations real, and have your characters act like genuine people.  We have heroes, heroine's, villains and people like you and me in our stories, so an author has to make them realistic.  A hero or heroine may not be heroic in there everyday life, but they can become courageous under certain situations.

For instance, a neighbor could pull you or a child from a burning house, or they see someone breaking into your house and run over with a gun or a ball bat to help fight off the robbers.  Is that a hero/heroine, or a stupid move on their part?  It all depends on what kind of capabilities you gave them.  Usually, there is something in their background that makes them capable of acting the way they do.

To make a story that your readers won't find fault with, you research the skills you give them.  Their skills should be accurate and as realistic as you can make them.  Some people can just have natural instincts to survive, but you must be in their head to show this.

Have a great Memorial Day everyone.  Remember our loved ones and those wonderful men and women who fight for us.

I hope this makes sense, as I have rewritten a bit of this.

Best,

Sandra K. Marshall

Meet Hot Model and Actor RICK MORA!

Interview with Adele Dubois

--CONTEST ALERT!--

Be automatically entered to win a Desert Nectar bookmark featuring Rick Mora when you leave a comment. Two winners drawn at random. Items sent via USPS first class mail inside the continental USA.

An Introduction to Rick:

While researching Native American culture on the Internet for my contemporary paranormal erotic romance novella Desert Wild, I found the above photograph of Rick Mora. As I stared at his handsome face, it seemed as if my story hero, Sonny Wild Horse Hendricks, looked back at me.

I contacted Rick for permission to use his picture to promote my book and we've stayed in touch ever since. Rick is generous and funny, popular and talented. His extensive work for charities that benefit women and children put him at the top of the Good Guy list. And need I say that he's hot and gorgeous? I'm thrilled to introduce Rick Mora to Romance Books R Us readers. Please give him a big welcome!

Q. What decision brought you to acting and modeling, and when?

A.   Insanity brought me to this business! I grew up a latch key kid always watching TV, fascinated by show biz. How I found my way was a matter of destiny. After completing college, I was taking my best friend from high school to his agency before I dropped him off at the airport for a three month modeling adventure to Japan.
It was Omar’s Men that planted the seed of the warrior and got me my first test shoot with fashion photographer Cliff Watts. Photo shoots led to music videos, which led to commercials, films, radio and finally charity. It has been a steady climb and it does not seem to be slowing down. I am just as excited to see where my destiny will take me.

Q. You played the part of a wolf shape-shifter in the movie Twilight. What was it like to appear in such a popular film?

A.  Being in Twilight was a life changing experience. I have been in this business for over 15 years and have been the face of major corporations and products, but nothing affected my career more than 12 seconds in the movie Twilight as Ephraim Black, the great great grandfather of Jacob. It was a privilege and an honor to be recognized as this character by the fans.
My popularity is definitely fan driven and I owe it all to Stephanie Myers and Catherine Hardwicke for creating such a powerful book-to-movie franchise. With every new release fans seem to all go back to the original story and fall in love all over again. Twilight has opened many doors for me and it does not seem to be stopping.

Q: You have acted in both films and TV commercials. Tell us about your experiences. Any favorites?

A.  I have been so very lucky to have found a place in big budget franchises to ultra low budget independent productions. Budget usually allows for better locations and good food but the workload can be demanding and stressful. Some of the best work done by actors comes when they are suffering on a low budget and limited time constraints. Commercials are always fun and they are shot pretty quick. The same thing counts, the better the budget the more enjoyable the job.
Favorite Commercial : TOYOTA COROLLA EUROPE : shot in Malaga, Almeria, Barcelona and Granada Spain and Amsterdam.
Favorite Movie : TWILIGHT: Life changing career boost that changed the way I do business with acting and branding of my name.

Q. Your modeling portfolio contains photographs from sizzling and sexy to innocent and introspective. What’s it like to model professionally?

A.  Modeling was not on my list of things to achieve after college. When it became an option, reality as I used to know it changed. I have been so blessed to work with some of the most amazing photographers in the world. I learned the business from the ground up from some of the best.
Modeling was my entrance ticket to a career choice I had never considered. The human body is an amazing vessel and I am in awe of the imagery created by the world’s top photographers. Being one of the only Native American’s in modeling became a very special place for me. I have always had huge passion for style, fashion and art.

Q. Do you have particular photographers you like to work with?

A.   I always have a growing wish list of photographers I would love to work with. Annie Leibowitz, Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, Bruce Weber, Patrick De’marchelle have always been favorites, but working with those photographers that helped make my career will always be first in my book; Cherrilyn Melanie Silva, Gregory Prescott, Jerris Maddison, Matthew Rolstan, Sita Mae, Cliff Watts and Carlos Reynosa

Q. You are active in charity work benefiting Native American women. Tell us about that.

A.  Being born from a woman, nurtured by a woman and raised by woman, it was an honor to be invited to join an E Joyce Thompson charity event. “The Red Crystal Gala” was the first Intertribal charity event out of South Dakota to raise funds and awareness for women who are victims of assault and sexual abuse on the Reservation.
It is an unfortunate reality that exists on all reservations that must be addressed. I am honored to support the E. Joyce Thompson Organization and the Circle of Nations Productions. I encourage others to get involved and help make a change in the vicious cycle of abuse that affects the Native Community as well as families nationwide.

Q. Tell us about your favorite hobbies. What do you do when you’re not working?

A.  Favorite hobbies, what do I do for fun? It seems everything I do, even for fun, turns into work, but I do enjoy the process. I am an avid photographer, shooting still with a 35mm film camera. My favorite subject is world landscape. I have been very blessed to have had some amazing travels through my business. From Fiji to Egypt, Israel to Argentina.
Most of my time when not working or shooting is spent on the beach. I am a full- fledged beach bum. I live, eat and sleep at the beach and try to visit as many places in the world I can with a beach. Surfing, kayaking, biking, Smashball and walking my dogs is always top on my list. I must say that I truly enjoy my job so much that working has become the most enjoyable full-time hobby.

Q. Share something about yourself you don’t usually discuss. We’re interested!

A.  Something I don’t normally discuss…You want an exclusive… Here you go!
Like many of my acting colleagues, the usual chosen profession is bartending or waiting tables, but I chose a different path. I chose a high profile lucrative part-time career in Child Development.
For 20 years I have dedicated my time out of production to education, Kindergarten to 5th grade. Nothing more rewarding than being king Rick Mora to a kindergartener one minute and then labeled a looser-wannabe-actor by a 5 th grader the next. I just let them know this part of my life is charity and my way of giving back to my community and that’s what famous people do. If they only understood the power of a steady check, insurance and job security as an up and coming actor...
Other Rick Mora secrets: I don’t eat chocolate, don’t drink coffee and cook just about every meal I eat. I am a sucker for beautiful eyes and love to stay home and snuggle. Need I say more?

Q: What would you consider to be the most romantic place in the world?

A.  A cardboard cutout can be the most romantic place in the world if you have the love of your life there to share it. I have had some amazing world travels and have been to some of the most romantic spots in the world BY MYSELF. So with that being said, nothings better than being naked on a white sand beach on a Fijian island in the South Pacific with the love of your life. No phones, no Internet and no people! I have found the same beaches in Costa Rica, Brazil and Argentina for those who can't make the long flight to a remote island in the South Pacific.

Q. What’s next for Rick Mora?

A.   I want to say the world is mine! But I am a long hair; a warrior trapped in a world still in fear of  what I represent. The projects I am involved with will entertain as well as educate. I hope to make you laugh and I hope to make you cry. I have some epic films I am involved with, as well as some amazing indies and a major television network project. I am excited to continue my career in acting, but am overwhelmed by the development of Rick Mora as a brand, as host entertainer and as a humanitarian.

It's been a pleasure chatting with you at Romance Books R Us!

The Little Bird by Jeanetta Rockholt

Since it's Memorial Day weekend and Mother's day is just past, I thought I’d post a poem my mother wrote. It has been printed in a small newspaper, and you get to see where I get my writing talent.

The poems about when my dad was very ill with colon cancer. It was near the end of his life when he was the sickest and couldn’t watch TV or read.

Really he couldn’t do much at all, and we had to be quiet for him.

Then this little humming bird came and built this tiny, little nest. My dad watched it and it seemed to take him away from the pain he was in.

I really think that little bird was a gift from God.

A little bird
by Jeanetta Rockholt

My first husband was very ill,
we all had to be very quiet and still.

A mother bird flew by our house.
Since we were so quiet, she decided to stop.

She began to build a house.
Our porch she decided to adopt.

Underneath the porch’s ceiling, on the TV wire,
nest material she began to acquire.

Such a worker, you wouldn’t believe.
A beauty of a nest, she began to achieve.

Three tiny, beautiful eggs, she began to lay.
She was a humming bird, so the tiny nest she made.

Three little birds began to hatch.
They were all humming birds, so each other they matched.

The first birds that grew
Up and out of the nest it flew.

Out to the shade tree and then,
There were two.

After a while, one was left to grow fat, and there he sat.
On the nest like a chair, just like that.

He licked the ceiling, as we watched, amazed.
His mother worked so hard to feed him, she was dazed.

So off he flew, one day, like the others,
whether they were sisters or brothers.

What a joy, my husband, and we all exclaimed.
Only a tiny little nest on the wire remained.

Now for my book:

BIO:
Born in Manhattan, New York and raised in Connecticut, she found that she was more interested in what went on in the past, than in the future. Denise always enjoys reading a variety of book genres such as ancient history, fantasy, science fiction, poetry, and romance. She has a great respect for the arts, her first love being drawing and painting. Writing is a medium that would inspire her to share the ongoing stories in her head.

Q: What’s the first thing you did when you received word you’d sold a book?
A: I wrote an email to all my friends and family. I was very excited.

Q: What part of the book is the easiest for you to write? Why?
A: The easiest part of the book was writing it. I think it’s fun to get your ideas out there.

Q: What part of the book is the hardest for you? Why?
A: Editing. There is something about going back to something you thought was perfect and trying to perfect it again. I dread editing, but you get used to rewriting after a while.

Q: What hobby do you enjoy when not writing?
A: Reading books and playing games on my devices. I also love to watch movies.

Q: What genre would you like to try writing in but haven’t yet done so? Why?
A: I would love to try my hand at a historical romance.

Q: Facebook, MySpace, Blogs, Chats, or Twitter. Which do you like best and why?
A: I like Twitter and Facebook. Easy to use and easy to get information across in.

BLURB:
Mira did not know what she had in store the day she fell asleep while wanting to escape her current situation. Overcoming the death of someone close and burying herself in school and an internship has kept her somewhat awake and alive. An admiration for the actor James Dean was all that kept the memory of her father alive. If she couldn’t be with her father, she could at least remember what they shared. She always wanted to meet James Dean. Be careful what you wish for. It may just come true.

EXCERPT:
My life couldn’t be more complete. As we reached the apartments, I slowly got off the bike, surprised at myself that I had done this. Ordinarily, I’d never get on a motorcycle. James leaned over and caressed my cheek. Before I could open my mouth to tell him what was to happen to him, he gave me a quick peck on the lips. I couldn’t let James walk away, not now.
Something in me grasped his wrist; my breath caught in my throat. I no longer cared about the rain. I must have looked like a drowned rat to him. “I have to tell you something,” I blurted as I waited for his reaction.

James smiled, then chuckled as he caressed my face. The rain was preventing me from seeing clearly. “Sweetheart, it’s raining and you’re soaked. I hope this is important.” Pulling him toward me, I faced him. I could change history. I could have him live out his life as he was meant to. If I couldn’t save my father, I could save him.

“In the future, when you become famous, please be careful. Remember this: there will be a day that you are off to a race. You will not see a car until it’s too late. James, please promise me. It could mean your life.” I must have sounded like a complete and total idiot to him. Geez! I think I watched Back To The Future too many times. I sounded like Marty talking to the professor about his impending death.

Chuckling, he shook his head, expelling the rain off his head and onto me. Laughter erupted between us as I covered my face. He then cupped my face, kissed my forehead. “Are you sure you’re not an angel? I cannot promise anything, but baby, I can promise I’ll see you tomorrow. I’ll pick you up here and you can ditch your responsibilities. Ride with me.”

Sighing, now I knew how all those girls felt when they looked at him. What an offer that would be. Ditch school to ride with the man who was loved by so many. I was determined he’d listen to me. Gripping his hands from my face, I gazed into his eyes. “I’m serious!”

Before I could utter another word, his lips descended on mine. My body went toward him and melted. I couldn’t help but respond as I brought him closer. I was lost in his warm lips as they caressed mine. Lingering near my lips, he breathed, “I know you are.” Then, winking as he kissed me again, smiling that beautiful smile of his, “How else can my angel guard me if she isn’t with me?”

Anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you!

This & That for the Merry Month of May

My turn to blog was rapidly approaching, but I found myself devoid of ideas. Not a good thing for a writer. But there I was, high and dry of topics. Then I read a newsletter that included blog ideas for May. Eureka!

The article wasn’t quite what I thought. Rather than blog topics, it listed May monthly observances. I picked out the ones I liked, then set about figuring how I could relate them to each other and to writing. So here goes:

May is Creative Beginnings Month. That certainly relates to writing. We all need a great beginning, a hook that will reel in editors, agents, and readers.

May is National Salsa Month. Salsa is spicy and delicious--just like romance novels. A scrumptious opening hook whets our taste buds for the rest of the story.

May is Sweet Vidalia Onion Month. Vidalia onions sweeten a salsa recipe. Sweet, tasty Vidalia onions enhance any recipe much as a passionate and sweet love story enhances any romance novel.

May 27 is Cellophane Tape Day. Cellophane tape holds things together. Good writing, good characterization, and believable conflict will hold any story together, be it sweet or spicy, or a dash of both.

May 30 is Hug Your Cat Day. I love cats. Most writers own cats. Every day should be Hug Your Cat Day.

I’ll end on that note as I go off in search of Killer, my cat, to give her a big hug.

Guest Blog: M.S. Spencer: The Kaleidoscope Effect

Every once in awhile someone will ask me if my novels are “autobiographical.” The question usually arises when I mention that this or that event is “in my book.” I hesitate, wondering how much to divulge. “Well, of course they are,” I could say. “Or, “The characters and settings portrayed in this book are purely fictional and bear no resemblance to anything real, living or dead.

The truth is somewhere in between. Most writers store their memories and experiences and thoughts in little cubbies in their heads, to be trotted out when relevant or appropriate to a story. I consider the period before I became a serious—aka published—writer, my percolation period. Since it covers some forty years, I accumulated a lot of coffee grounds. In my pre-marital life I filled my mental database with all kinds of travel and adventure. Memories of my life in Turkey, in Egypt and the Middle East, in France and traveling throughout Europe, in Mexico and the Caribbean, are like snapshots I use to fill out a story—to give it authenticity. The ensuing marital life of babies, teachable moments, herding cats, domestic puttering (I used to garden and make jarred foodstuffs) lent substance and humor to my characters.

Still, no character or action is an exact replica of any memory. The process is more like a writer cutting up little pieces of colored images, popping them into a kaleidoscope, and shaking it up to create an entirely new world. With luck the source is recognizable only to the writer.

For example, in my latest release, Artful Dodging: the Torpedo Factory Murders, the heroine’s best friend is a Torpedo Factory sculptress, a Russian with wild black hair and red-painted mouth, resonant of voice and larger than life. There is such a woman, but she’s not Russian, and she doesn’t have a studio at the Torpedo Factory. And she doesn’t wear lipstick. Other than that…You’d find another example in my second novel, Lost and Found. Picture the scene: the heroine is asleep in a room on Mt. Kineo, Maine. She’s awakened by scratching and, thinking it’s a raccoon, bangs on her window to scare it away. Instead of a small cowed mammal, she finds herself face to face with an indignant bear. Now that actually happened to me, but not in Mt. Kineo, and I only heard the bear (and believe me, the growl alone was enough to scare anyone). Oh, and I didn’t get to be comforted by a brawny, macho hero of a Maine guide. Sigh.

Latest Release: M. S. Spencer’s latest release takes place in Old Town Alexandria, an historic cobblestoned city on the Potomac River in Virginia. It follows the adventures of several artists at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. An old munitions factory on the waterfront, it lay abandoned after World War II until the 1970s, when an intrepid band of local ladies convinced the City of Alexandria to lease it to them for an art center.

BLURB:
Waiting out the rain, Milo Everhart takes stock of her widowhood and the handsome man standing in the door to the bar. Little does she know she will meet that man again and again under both passionate and terrifying circumstances.

Tristram Brody waits for his date, too conscious of the beautiful woman sitting by the door. Little does he know that she will hate him for trying to destroy her beloved art center, and even suspect him of murder. Nor that she will be drawn inevitably into his arms.

Little does either of them suspect they will be embroiled in not one, but two murders, in which the fate of the Torpedo Factory, an art center housed in an old munitions factory on the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria, will be decided.

BIO:
Although M. S. Spencer has lived or traveled on five continents, the last 30 years have been spent mostly in Washington, D.C. as a librarian, birdwatcher, Congressional staff, speechwriter, editor, volunteer, kayaker, policy wonk, non-profit director and “domestic engineer.” Ms. Spencer has two fabulous grown children. She has only one cat (down from three, plus a dog, a snake and two hamsters), but since her study window looks on a park and river there is plenty of wildlife to distract her from her writing.

M. S. Spencer has published five contemporary romantic suspense novels, Lost in His Arms and Lost and Found (http://www.redrosepublishing.com/books), Losers Keepers and Triptych (Secret Cravings Publishing, http://www.secretcravingspublishing.com/), and Artful Dodging: The Torpedo Factory Murders, released April 24, 2012 by Secret Cravings.

An alpha male-just for you

Meet Slade Donovan, my latest alpha male, the hero of Unconditional Surrender.
I love alpha males, and I love to write about them. The ultimate hero in romance fiction is the alpha male... powerful, mysterious and totally attractive to the heroine.
So what is an alpha male?
The alpha male is the "man with the plan," and women are wired to go for this type of guy. Look through the pages of my books and you will find cowboy, current and former military, lots of law enforcement, even some corporate icons. But they all have the same thing in common–they are alpha males. He is sexy, confident, great in and out of bed
The term "alpha male" is sometimes applied to humans to refer to a man who is powerful through his courage and a competitive, goal-driven, "take charge" attitude.  Alpha males take greater risks. With their bold approach and confidence "alpha males" are often described as charismatic.
They are aggressive, results-driven achievers who insist on top performance from themselves and others. Courageous and self-confident, they are turned on by bold, innovative ideas and ambitious goals, and they pursue their objectives with tenacity and an urgent sense of mission. Their intense competitive drive keeps them focused on the gold - silver or bronze simply won't do - and they're always keeping score. Often charismatic figures who command attention, they exert influence even when they're low-key and inconspicuous.
Whether heading a band of warriors, bringing a vital new product to market, guiding a team to glory or steering a giant conglomerate, alphas are hardwired for achievement and eager to tackle challenges that others find intimidating. Along the way, they inspire awe and admiration - and sometimes fear and trembling. Wherever they are and whatever they do, they stand out from the crowd, usually leaving an indelible impression on those whose lives they touch.

When an alpha Delta Force leader and a prosecuting attorney meet at a bondage club, which one will be the top and which one the bottom?
Slade Donovan has been a Delta Force team leader for years and the missions are beginning to wear on him. He’s been a Dom for longer than that, but now he’s tired of the string of faceless women and wants to find the right sub and form a permanent relationship. Someone who understands his life and can deal with it.
Kari Malone excels in her role as a prosecuting attorney but the iron control she needs to do it gets tiring. And her search for the right man is fraught with disappointments. When a friend introduces her to the D/s scene, she finally finds an arena where she is able to both shed her mantle of control and indulge in her sexual fantasies. She meets Slade, also a guest, and their brief connection is instant and intense.
Five years pass before they meet again. By now, as Butterfly Kari has created an alternative life for herself at The Edge, a very private bondage club. Her search for the right man falters when she realises none of them can compete with the memory of the man she met in Chicago. When Slade turns up at The Edge it’s apparent from "Hello" that the heat between them has been simmering all this time and is about to explode. But can each of them provide what the other needs to make this work?
