Kiss & Tell: Your First REAL Kiss!

Valentine's Day is two weeks away...are you ready? It's a time for remembering that special someone in your life. Cards, flowers, candy, and more, are given as tokens of affection.

But, how many of us are celebrating this special day with the person we shared our first REAL kiss with? Notice I put the word "REAL" in capitals. I'm not talking about kissing that third grade classmate or puckering up with someone while playing "Spin the Bottle".  I mean when you kissed someone you thought you were in love with.

Can anyone say that their first "REAL" kiss was with the person they're sharing their life with now?

Nope. Not me. And, I would guess very few people could say that! My first "REAL" kiss was with an eighteen-year-old  sailor I was dating. Now, you have to understand that this was MANY years ago and I was raised in a VERY Catholic home. I had just been given permission to start dating. (Yeah...and now I write sensuous or erotic romance books!)

I was a teenager (17) and "Bob" and I dated without kissing for months. Holding hands...yes. Kissing...no. When the time finally came, I remember being nervous, wondering if I was tilting my head the right way! I closed my eyes instinctively, and when it was over, I was half-elated and half-disappointed. And, still wondered if I'd done it correctly!

When I think back to that kiss, I now realized I had nothing to compare it to...except TV and movie kisses I'd seen. They were always very passionate, with music in the background. Mine was nothing like that. I thought I "loved" Bob, but no passion or music. Just a kiss. (The photo is NOT me!)

But it was that very crucial first kiss...and gave me something to compare the next ones to!

My heroes and heroines share their first kisses in different places and stages of their relationships. I didn't supply music for them but hope they heard some...and I hope you supply music and sense their passion when you read about their first kissing encounters!

Like you, I was raised Catholic and when my sixteenth birthday rolled around and I hadn't been kissed, I was really bummed. Made it my goal that I wouldn't leave sixteen w/o being kissed.

Accomplished my goal, although as I recall the moment, it wasn't all that great. :)

I am so grateful I am NOT spending my life with the first boy I kissed-Yikes! The kiss was sloppy, wet, horribly aggressive yet timid too-just awful! lol
I'm convinced young men do not inherently know how to kiss. It's a learned art form that caring lovers teach each other.
Maybe a good Valentine's Day slogan would be:
"Teach a man to kiss and make the world a better place!"

I still remember mine was with a guy I was crazy about (I was 16) and thought he was on the same page. One night he gave my first kiss, very gently, and I was thrilled, thrilled, thrilled. Then he said "You're so sweet" and walked away. Never saked me out again. I kept wondering for months.

I started dating Mr. Nina when I was 14. And though I'd kissed a couple of boys, they were just experimenting. Mr. Nina was my first "real" kiss. And yep, it was one of those things I loved about him. His kisses can still make my toes curl and set butterflies flying all these years later.

I got my first kiss when I was 12, but it wasn't 'real'. We kissed each other on the cheek, and we were so shy, it was done in complete privacy.

My first 'real one' happened when I was 18 and confessed to my new b/f I'd never 'properly' kissed anyone. He taught me....and subsequent b/f's always commented on what a good kisser I was:)
