Today I'm happy to present an interview or reader Zuradia Worrell! Our readers are very important to authors and we love to hear their stories!
My name is Zuradia. I am 23 years old and I live in the hottest place in the world. Okay, so that's not exactly true but it sure does feel like it sometimes. I actually live in Phoenix Arizona. You know it's hot where you live when it's after 10 pm and it's still over 100 degrees outside!
I actually started reading romance books/novels when I was around 13 or 14 years old. I was never a social person so I turned to books as my source of entertainment. I've always been an avid reader. Well I finally had run out of interesting things to read in the young adult section of our local library and so I decided to look around and see what looked interesting.
Well I came up on the romance section of the library and I was so embarrassed! I only ever saw older women going into that area. And heaven forbid if my mother or anyone from school came in and saw me. But I ventured in anyway and picked out my first romance novel. Of course I went to the self-scan station so no one would see what I had chosen to check out. Of course my mother did end up seeing the book but she didn't care what I was reading. I laid down that night and read that book from cover to cover. I'm a fast reader. Ever since that first book, I haven't been able to put them down since.
I don't really have any hobbies other than reading. That is probably the number one joy in my life other than cooking. I absolutely love to cook! Let me rephrase that, I love to cook when I don't actually have to do it. If I have to do it, then I don't want to. I love creating different flavor combinations and testing them out on people to see what works and what doesn't.
As far as the reading goes, I love to read paranormal erotic romances. More specifically paranormal erotic romances having to do with vampires and shifters. I'm not exactly sure why that is the genre I fell in love with, but it has caused me to run into some great stories by some great and very talented authors like Kate Douglas with her Chanku stories, LA Banks with the Vampire Huntress Legend stories, Laurell K Hamilton with the Anita Blake series, and Charlainne Harris with the Sookie Stackhouse series just to name a few.
And yes, I did get sucked into the whole Twilight thing. Not exactly what I'm used to, but for some reason I can't seem to resist. I also love to watch shows that deal with vampires and shifters. I love watching the shows Moonlight, and Blood Ties. And I am an absolute True Blood junkie. I can't get enough of that show.
Q: What type of genre do you enjoy the most and why?
A: I enjoy paranormal romance the most. More specifically, vampire and shifter stories. Why? I really don't know there is just something about vampires and shifters that just does it for me.
Q: What inspired you to read romance books?
A: What inspired me to read romance books was the fact that I ran out of everything else that was available to read for young adults at the library. I just decided to check one out one day (the whole time I was embarrassed as hell because I'd never seen anyone but older women in that section) and I haven't put them down since.
Q: Do you read ebooks, print books, or both? Have you thought about getting an ebook reader if you don't already have one?
A: I actually read both but I prefer print books. I have an mp4 player that allows me to read ebooks on it, but I want to get a device specifically for reading ebooks. This way I can actually listen to music on my mp4 player again. Lol
Q: When do you read and do have "comfort food" as you read?
A: I read all of the time. Seriously all of the time. If I'm not sleeping, I'm reading. I even read while I'm eating my meals. I don't really have a comfort food whether I'm reading or otherwise. I'm a big girl, all food brings me comfort.
Q: What kind of promo items (bookmarks, trinkets, brochures, etc.) do you enjoy receiving?
A: I'm greedy. I like them all!
Q: Do you enter contests? What type of items do you enjoy getting if you win?
A: Yes I do enter contests. I enjoy them. Of course, I enjoy them even more on the rare occasion that I happen to win. I enjoy winning books most of all through contests. I'm always up for adding to my library.
Q: How important is a cover when you're looking to buy a book?
A: I don't really consider covers that important because the cover is not what I'm going to be focused on. I'm going to be too busy paying attention to the actual story. If you let cover art influence your decision, you might end up passing up a great story because of lousy cover art.

Thank you:) Hopefully this will ring true with my first book, LOL!
With yesterday's heat index of 118, it's too hot to breathe outside in Indiana!
Hi Zuradia,
Thanks, it's nice to hear from a reader. I'm in Los Angeles, where summer seems to be skipping us this year, we've hardly even hit 80
Hi, Zuradia. How nice to hear from an actual reader. You sound like me as a child, reading everything I could get my hands on. For some reason I ate an orange (including the skin) with every book. Good to read your thoughts, thanks. Jean
Thanks everyone for reading my interview. I am definitely feeling the love here. :-)
XOXO,
Zuradia
