Instead, I got Dickens and Shakespeare. I know I read Georgette Heyer in my twenties and absolutely loved them. She had great humor. I still like reading historical romance. I used to devour Gothic romances but didn't read my first Regency romance until a few years ago. I was hooked. I love Regencies for all the reasons you state, Suz. I do recognize that they're a fantasy, but they're good escapist reading. Who wouldn't want to belong to that fantasy world, at least for a while.Cara Marsihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05384839120633419382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5742415355016995707.post-73435106946698392122016-03-15T08:10:19.747-04:002016-03-15T08:10:19.747-04:00I hear you about Jane Austen. So, I trotted down to the library to read the book. Damn. Couldn't get past the first couple of chapters. Endlessly boring.

My fave regencies are the naughty erotic ones where the hero/heroine throw caution to the ton. :)Tina Donahuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07160021732404091277noreply@blogger.com
