I'd like you to welcome Tessie Bradford...
I've known Tessie Bradford from the time I first became a published author, and she has become one of my favorite authors. I asked her to allow me to interview her, and she kindly agreed.
Fran: Welcome to RB4US, Tessie! So happy to finally get you over here!
Tessie: Thanks so much for having me here today, Fran! I’m excited to be able to share a sneak peek into my upcoming release, Leena’s Men, which is book #2 in my Fated Mates of Mesta series. It will release July 30th at Resplendence Publishing.
Fran: Please tell us a bit about Leena and her men. I recall from reading the initial book in this series, that Leena was introduced then.
Tessie: Yes, Fran, I introduced Leena as a headstrong teenager in book #1 of the series, Megan’s Men. Flash forward fifteen years. She’s built a successful career and is going about leading her life in the manner she chooses, which doesn’t conform to the Slaterine norm. Adam and Craig are free spirits who have been galactic nomads for many years but have recently been considering the possibility of settling down. All three of them are strong, independent and passionate individuals.
Fran: Was it your intent from the beginning to write a sci-fi series?
Tessie: No, it sure wasn’t, Fran! The positive reader response to Megan’s Men inspired me to keep going! In Leena’s Men, I explore the Slaterine soul bond through the perspective of a Slaterine woman. Believe me, Leena isn’t one to blindly accept the concept, let alone the reality.
Fran: Do you have a favorite scene in the story?
Tessie: I do, but if I tell you it will spoil the ending! Seriously though, what I thoroughly enjoyed writing were the common, everyday issues that I imagine would come up between beings from different worlds.
Fran: What’s next for Tessie Bradford?
Tessie: I’m a featured author at the BDSM Writers Conference taking place at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City August 21st – 24th! Check out the event at www.bdsmwriterscon.com
My next release will be Rubbing Rita on November 12, 2014. Resplendence Publishing is introducing a line of romance stories based on classic nursery rhymes. Of course I had to choose Rub-A-Dub-Dub, three men in a tub!!
And a bit further into the future, Drista’s Men will be released in 2015.
Fran: Where can we find you on the web?
Tessie: Website: www.tessiebradford.com
Fran: Could you please give us a blurb and an excerpt from Leena's Men, Tessie?
Tessie: Of course! I'd be happy to!

Transporting cargo between Mesta and its neighboring planets in the Aaron system provides a comfortable living, however it greatly lacks in the excitement department. Receiving a distress signal from a crippled Earth vessel gets Leena’s adrenaline pumping, but being overwhelmed with unfamiliar, intense emotions from the moment of first contact shocks her to her core. Leena has purposefully kept the far-from-guaranteed event of finding her soul bonded mates out of her life plan.
Adam and Craig were seriously considering making some big changes even before finding themselves adrift in space with a fast failing life support system. Their relief and thankfulness for surviving a fiery crash landing is monumental. When they discover that their savior is a beautiful woman who ignites all of their senses at first touch, Adam and Craig know without a doubt that their life together is about to take a course beyond their wildest imaginings.
Earth year 2301
“God damn it!” Adam cursed as the ship took a hard hit, causing the warning sirens to ring out, again. A meteor storm of this magnitude was something any pilot with functioning brain cells usually avoided like the plague, but desperate times called for desperate measures. He had made a command decision to pilot head on into the deadly projectiles; the meteors were the least of their current problems.
They were ass-deep in a shit ton of very, very bad. A Camlutian battle cruiser was using them for target practice with spot on accuracy. On top of most of the ship’s computer monitoring consoles being fried, the propulsion system was now barely functioning; fucking icing on the proverbial cake.
“Status of aft thrusters?” he yelled out.
“Five minutes,” Craig shouted back.
“Gonna be space garbage by then!”
“Okay, make it two.”
Despite the precariousness of their situation, Adam couldn’t help cracking a smile. Craig’s sarcastic, dead pan humor was one of the things he loved most about him.
Clutching the manual controls in a white-knuckled grip, Adam called up every last bit of skill and expertise he had to steer the crippled vessel through the meteor gauntlet on visual alone.
Craig rushed into the tiny cockpit and jumped into his seat. “Here we go,” he announced as his fingers flew across the control keys.
Adam held his breath as seconds ticked by and nothing happened. Then the ship shuddered and lurched, but this time it was due to its engines engaging, not the pummeling of gigantic rocks. His tactical screen displayed just long enough for him to see where they were in the meteor field, and that there was no sign that the enemy ship was still in pursuit. “Cams are such giant pussies,” he commented with a snort of derision. “Let’s get the hell out of here.”
“Yes please,” Craig mumbled in response.
When Adam’s gut told him they’d traveled a sufficient distance out of harm’s way, he throttled down to idle. “It seems the stabilizers are working,” he said, finally letting go of the controls and rolling his shoulders in an attempt to work out the stress-induced muscle kinks.
“I’ve run so many bypasses it’s a miracle anything in this ship is functioning at all. We need to land and fast.” Adam watched Craig’s expression go from serious to downright worried as he tested different functions on the communication panel. “The emergency beacon appears to be sending a signal but there’s no way for me to be sure.”
“At least we’re back in Gal-Fed space. If we’re not too far off our original course, a planet in the Aaron system might be able to lock onto us,” Adam offered for encouragement.
“Hope so, because what I do know is that we can’t broadcast out verbally and if we can’t receive either, well…”
“Yeah, I get it.”
Adam got up and moved to stand behind Craig. He rested his hands on his shoulders and began to gently massage the man who had been his best friend, his partner, his lover for almost fifteen years. Craig reached back and covered Adam’s hands with his. Their eyes met in the reflection on the blank computer screen in front of them.
“It’s going to piss me off hard if we bite it after scoring our largest payment ever,” Craig said with a sigh. “Plus our demise would bring great joy to the Camlutians, and that’s plain wrong.”
“Two damn good reasons why it isn’t going to happen.” Adam kissed the top of his head. “And I’ve got another one.”
“Lay it on me.”
“I think it’s time for us to set down roots somewhere.”
Craig turned and stared up at him with a look of utter shock. “Fuck, you’re really worried we’re not going to get out of this, aren’t you?”
“No! I’ve been thinking about it for a while.”
“Really?” Craig questioned with a raised eyebrow. “If that’s so, why are you just mentioning it now?”
“’Cause I’m not the communicator in this relationship?”
“Ain’t that a fact,” Craig agreed eagerly. “You know as well as I do that we both go stir crazy when we’re grounded.”
“If we had a real home again, maybe we would feel differently. I’ve lost count of how many planets we’ve stayed on since we left Earth, Craig. The luster of bopping from place to place, living on the ship or in varying quality levels of temporary accommodations, and being chased and shot at periodically is dimming for me.”
“Wow, I seem to remember broaching very similar subject matter to you before we left on this delivery. You quickly and quite effectively shut me down.”
“So it took a minute for your wise insights to sink in,” Adam replied with a grin.
“Let’s wait and see where we are and how we’re feeling about twenty-four hours from now.”
“Why just a day?”
“That’s my estimate of our life support remaining operational.”
Adam’s heart sank. The odds of being rescued in such a remote area in that amount of time were not in their favor. “Then I say we pick a heading and at regular intervals do a three-sixty roll to try and get a visual on a planet.”
“Sound plan, Captain; I vote for going straight.” Craig pointed his left index finger towards the observation window.
Fran: Sounds like another winner, girl. Now tell everyone a bit more about Tessie Bradford...
Tessie Bradford is a bestselling author of Erotic Romance who publishes with Resplendence Publishing and Ellora’s Cave. Megan’s Men, book #1 in her Fated Mates of Mesta series, stayed in Amazon’s Top 100 for erotic/sci-fi for over six months and a number of her titles have been bestsellers at ARe and other third party retailers.
Her stories focus on journeys of sexual discovery. She loves creating strong independent women who, with the guidance and love of an alpha hero (or two or three), realize and embrace their submissive sides.
From the Coffee Time Review of Possessing Eleanor, “Ms. Bradford has taken a successful, independent woman and turned her into the perfect submissive without changing Ellie’s personality, something not many authors can manage so easily.”
Fran: Thanks so much for joining us today, Tessie. We all wish you many sales, and hope to be able to say proudly, "That USA Today best selling author is my good friend, Tessie Bradford!"
