Taking On A New Role

To Fellow RB4U Members and Readers:  Due to unforseen circumstances, Molly/Kenzie is stepping down from her regularly scheduled Blog Day.  M/K regrets she will no longer entertain you on the 19th of every month with her various commentary on certain topics, witty or ho-hum as they may seem.  She will be happy to fill in at the last minute, in the case of a cancellation, so rest assured, she will still be around:)

So What Are These 'Unforseen' Circumstances?  #1:

My adorable granddaughter is now two, and since I have been her full time caregiver for 6 months now, my online and writing time has been severely limited.  My laptop refuses to accept our new router which arrived in March, and though it was 'fixed', my daughter did not 'take note' of what the tech did, so it still refuses to work for me.  I'm going to have to call them again and this time not leave home five minutes before he arrives, lol!  It's rather hard to answer email or check social media when Miss Itsy-Bitsy is trying to 'help'.

My daughter works nights, so she is only 'Mommy' for a few hours a day, more when she has two days off in a row.  Plus, Alex goes to her dad's every weekend; this is when 'Ma-Ma' or 'Ga-ma' (as she calls me) spends the weekend cleaning house, catching up online, and spending some 'Me' time.

#2:

I did manage to submit two stories this year:  The Sci-Fi romance I finished in NaNoWriMo and a short story.  The Alien-Meets-Human was rejected a few months back, and still no word from Publisher #2.  I continue to work sporadically on the sequel, plus several other unfinished wips and cleaning up my short story, which is due at the end of this month, and will hopefully be self-published in my local writer's group anthology this fall.  I will definitely let you know when it's available, as well as news of any other rejections/acceptances!

#3:

See this handsome lad?  This would be my youngest, known as 'Youngling' on social media:)  Due to a rough year in 3rd grade and dealing with a small bullying issue on top of his ADD issues, I have decided to home school him next year (as if I don't already have enough on my plate, lol!).  I hope this proves to be a good decision; if it doesn't work out, I can always send him back to public school.  I would appreciate any prayers offered up for his educational needs and my sanity for the coming year!

Finally, in closing, I want to echo Cynthia Arsuaga, who 'stole' my original post (just kidding!  Seriously, click the link and read it again, only this time put my name on it and skip the 2nd paragraph, lol!) and thank everyone at RB4U for their friendship, patience, support, and all the cheerleading you've done for me in the past several years.  Like Cynthia, I've had to make some tough choices this year, but I'll still be around.  So thank you all:  Marianne Stephens, Rose Anderson, Paris Brandon, Cynthia Arsuaga, Tina Donahue, Desiree Holt, Gemma Juliana, Melissa Keir, Fran Lee, Sandra K. Marshall, Cara Marsi, Polly McCrillis, Nicole Morgan, Cindy Spencer Pape, Suzanne Rock, Janice Seagraves, R. Ann Siracusa, Jean Hart Stewart, Bobbye Terry, Renee Vincent.  Best wishes to all of you!

Adorable children. Hope your life gets less hectic, but hey, with the love from your kids/grandkids, it's worth it. :)

Oh my Molly! You have your hands full. One day, all will be less crazy and you will be able to get back to your love of writing. Happy days and enjoy the kiddoes. They are precious.

Molly, we'll miss your witty blogs. You have such a full plate. The children are so cute. I hope things settle down for you. Good luck with the home schooling. That's a lot to take on.

We will miss you Molly/Kenzie. I love your books and hearing about your life. I can see how you have a lot on your plate and know that you always have an ear in me, esp. with the homeschooling questions! All the best!

Kids are only kids for such a short while, enjoy your time together and don't sweat the small stuff.

@Tina: Thank you:) Yes, she's entering the stage where her vocabulary is really taking off and the last thing she needs is a grumpy grandma!

@Rose: I cherish my 'me time', even if it's only a few moments in the bathroom.

@Jean: LOL...I was looking forward to the empty nest, but now it looks as if that won't happen for ten more years.

@Rose: Awww, thank you! They have their good moments, lol!

@Vicki: Just say a prayer for me now and then? Seems like every time I get a spare moment, either the internet acts up or someone else needs my attention!

@Cara: Thank you:) I'm glad you enjoyed my posts!

@Melissa: I will definitely call on you if I hit a wall with the home schooling:) I'm so happy you enjoy my books and hope you like the new series, if it is ever accepted.

@Paris: Exactly! Plus my stepdaughter has missed her kids' childhoods, so I'm doing double duty there also.
