BIO:
Hiya! I’m Jeannie aka J.M. Powers. Without the ability to free characters from the nooks and crannies of my mind and onto the page, I'm more wacky than usual. I must write.

Though I waded through lots of rejections, I’m now multi-published with more books in the works. I offer only my best and hope every reader takes something positive with them after reading my creations.

I was born in southern Florida. My childhood was full of new places, people and experiences. After traveling all over the country, I met and married my very own hero and settled on an island surrounded by the Niagara River. Cool, huh?

Q: What’s the first thing you did when you received word you’d sold a book?
A: I called my sister in Italy and screamed. She knew immediately what it meant.(We connect like that.) Then I hung up. International calls are expensive.

Q: What part of the book is the easiest for you to write? Why?
A: Dialogue is easy for me because I actually hear my characters speaking. I just follow them around and write down whatever they say. I especially like it when they communicate with friendly yet challenging banter. Seriously though...oh yeah, I am serious.

Q: What part of the book is the hardest for you? Why?
A: The hardest part would be the ending.I should be happy when the book is finished, however I end up feeling a bit lost. I wander around with a glazed look in my eyes mumbling stuff like: “Aye Milady, I be a might lost.” Yeah, that’s what happens when I do too much research into the medieval period. I keep rambling nonsense bits like this answer. I need to stop. Please, someone take away my laptop. On second thought, don’t. No, on third thought, you better just rip it from my fingers. Hurry.

Q: Do all your heroes and all heroines look the same in your mind as you “head write”?
A: Writing with my head is difficult. Unless I stick a pencil in my mouth, ear, or nose, it’s relatively impossible. I prefer to write with a keyboard or a sharp stick in the dirt. Okay, I’ll act normal and answer the question. My heroes and heroines look different in each book. However, they all have one thing in common: A flaw. That makes them human. The flaw can be outward, such as a scar, or inward, like guilt, mistrust, or self-doubt.

Q: Do you eat comfort food when writing? If so, what food inspires your imagination?
A: Coffee and chocolate. Two of my favorite things.

Q: You’re on a remote island with a handsome man, a computer, and a “mysterious” source of electricity to power your computer. What do you do?
A: First I get to know this handsome man with the mysterious source of electricity on an intimate level. Can you imagine the writing fodder I’d get out of that? Then I would use the computer to write about it, changing the names to protect the not-so-innocent.
Why are you looking at me like that? Sorry, the mysterious source of electricity shorted out my mind. What was the question? Did I answer it?

BLURB: For All Time
Sage never thought a warm summer walk through a nature preserve with her dog would lead her to a man...hanging in a tree no less.

Cade is a tasty piece of man-candy, however Sage finds him quite strange, especially when he mentions a New Year’s Ball he attended the night before.

The chemistry between them is downright electrifying, and when they kiss—Sage realizes how ripe for the picking love is because her world literally falls away.

EXCERPT:
Time staggered with anticipation— then Cade’s lips met hers.

Shadows of a rainbow sparked beneath her eyelids. Her body felt liquefied, as if shimmering water cascaded into her veins and carried her into rolling rapids. Imaginings of love, lying in his arms, and having his children flooded her thoughts. Defiantly dismissing the images, Sage kissed him deeper, relishing the feel of their tongues meeting in a passionate dance, an electrified, steamy sway of passion. She could not stop—and realized she didn’t want to. He was a stranger. Nevertheless, her heart knew it was too late. The shock of how deeply she knew he was that kindred soul stunned her. The one her mother told her she would meet—yes her mother believed in love—but Sage had been hurt too many times to put trust in her words. And now thoughts of love shattered through her wall. All these thoughts spun in the few seconds of the kiss...the magical, jolting, melting, fascinating kiss.

BLURB: Timeless Valentine
Full-figured Kerry is reeling from the rejection of her former husband, and quickly spiraling into self-hate. The last thing she needs is a man. However when a hunk—in a cape, no less—shows up at her teller window on Valentine’s Day, she wants nothing but. Until he says his name—Wren, and drops a heart shaped stone on the counter, claiming it carried him straight to her.

Kerry shoves aside better judgment and agrees to meet him after work. It’s Wren’s sexy English accent, sapphire eyes, and dual-dimpled smile that swayed her indecision, but the jolt-inducing hand-squeeze convinced her...and unearthed sexual urges she thought buried.

The magic stone possesses the power to join them, but it cannot claim her heart. It’s up to Wren to pry it back open, and show Kerry how desirable she is. But Kerry needs to punch the inner voice in the mouth, and discover her true beauty.

EXCERPT:
She dropped her keys. He didn’t even know her name, but he knew her body, because he was touching every part of it without moving his palms from her cheeks.

His eyes locked on hers. Wren brushed his fingers along her jaw then propped her chin with his finger. “Beautiful,” he whispered.

Tears sprang to her eyes. How could he be so cruel? “I’m not beautiful. And that’s okay, because I’m fat.” She meant to say smart. She clenched her eyes. Shit.

Wren’s lips brushed her eyelids. She leaned into him.

“Ye are mine.”

He brushed her bangs to the side, and Kerry opened her eyes. What did he just say?

“A contradiction ye are.” He sent a shiver up her back when his hands caressed her arms. “Soft yet strong.”

“Strong?” Kerry blurted. Say something before he kills you with lies. “Like kick-your-ass strong?”

Wren chuckled. “Bold, yet refreshing wit.”

“Oh? So, let me get this straight.” She reminded herself of Shannon when she started ticking off her fingers. “I’m beautiful, strong, soft, witty and...you forgot one. FAT.”

“Ah, sweet one, dare not weep.” When did she start crying? “Those tears wound me.” He wiped them softly with the edge of his cape. “Ye are blind to thine own beauty, yet I am taken with thee so deeply I ache.”

Anything else you’d like to add?
Not much else to say other than these facts:
I laugh at the most inappropriate times. I did cartwheels down a hotel corridor on a dare once. (Like twice would have been any more humiliating.) I love chocolate, coffee and cashews. Wow, I just realized I must love alliteration too...and I obviously love to share stupid stuff about myself.

@Jean Hart Stewart: If I did a cartwheel now I'd probably be in a body cast. lol. The things I did when I was young. I mean younger. I'm always young. Grin.
